Hi!
It's me...
~~~
Maxine's POV
It's the first day of school and I still can't find my bag
My school bag.
The thing that I can't go without to school
The thing that I had forgotten to get ready
The thing that I had to wake up at five am and head to Walmart for, to just find empty aisles
The thing that-
Okay, that's enough, I'm out of reasons
Hi! I'm Maxine Vanderbilt, also known as the person who forgot to get their school bag on the first day of school, aka the person who got everything ready for school except the school bag, aka the person who is staring at themselves in the mirror having a mental breakdown right now
"Maxine! C'mon! If we don't head rn we're gonna be late" a voice called out from outside the bathroom's door
Did she just say rn out loud?
"No, I can't, I don't have a bag" I argue stupidly, my tone sad, I don't know what's wrong with me or why I'm actually depressed cause of this, I swear I'm not usually like this
It couldn't be just the period, right? Like I'm not usually that bad when it comes
"Open the damn door or God help me I'm gonna break it down into pieces, we don't want to explain how things are gonna get here to your mom now do we?" The threat might fall to deaf ears since it was said in such a sweet tone, but I knew better
"Okay, okay, but don't you dare try and change my mind about going to school," I say back, not that I was afraid of her threat or anything
It's just that I love my mom too much to make her waste money on a broken door just cause my friend is stupid enough to break it, Okay?
Damn those karate lessons
I open the white door slowly to have a piece of warm, slightly brown cloth thrown into my face
Eww, what the heck?
I immediately reached for my face and snatched it away before throwing it back at Sophia
Who you might have guessed, dodged it
I seriously need to have a talk with Mrs. Richard, signing her into karate lessons was so not such a good idea
"That's for making me late for school and wasting my time"
"Where did you bring that from?!" I asked horrified of the answer, already back again inside the bathroom rubbing my face with soap, this time the door was left wide open
She smirked as she coolly leaned against the door, of course, instead, she missed it and fell down on her face inside the bathroom floor
I stared at her in shock as she stayed laying in there, face facing downwards
Sighing I washed my face and jumped above her corpse
After a few more seconds she slowly got up while muttering a few curses, then turned to me
"With the dirty clothes" she finally said, entering my room
It took me a moment to realize that she was talking about the towel she threw at me
Oh no no no...
"SOPHIA RICHARD get out of my house right now!" I barked at her, disgusted by her mere sight
She slowly did a small curtesy, wincing a bit, probably still sour from her fall
"Gladly"
She was already downstairs when the pillow hit the door instead, her giggles filling the empty house
Now, where was I? Oh right, my school bag...
