I saw it coming all along
A horribly familiar song
I hear my heartbeat in my ears
My thoughts whir shift click into gear
Yes, this is heartbreak, there's no doubt
But I chose to go down this route
He held me at arm's length but I dove in
I love too much, is that a sin?
Electricity vibrates in me, sounds like muttering
But it's no longer a pleasant fluttering
A roiling dread, it makes me sick
If this is to kill me, please make it quick
It hurts so good and reaches deep
The wrongness of it all makes me weep
To break me isn't what he meant to do
But all along I've been slowly breaking me too.

PoetryI write about a "she" person feeling all these things. It feels like I'm telling a fictional story, which feels worlds better to believe.
