The camp was silent as a timid breeze. Quickpaw pushed the tendrils out her way, letting her slim body slip through the camps entrance. She spotted a pale grey she-cat grooming herself, letting giant sniffs interrupt her every few seconds. Two ginger and brown cats were striding down to the freshkill pile, furs covered in scraps of leaves.

She padded to the fresh-kill pile, releasing the decent shrew from her jaws for it to plop down on the twig-nest. She then departed from the fresh-kill pile, heading for the apprentices den. It was a fallen willow tree log, with several cushiony moss nests surrounding the log. She went to the bottom of the willow tree, prodding her nest then sitting inside it. It isn't fair that we have no privacy. And stay out
in the cold, she let a shudder release.
