Jess and I ended up texting the number but not getting a response until the next day

Unknown: Who is this?

Me: Lauren from the cafe.

Unknown: Oh, okay.

Me: Why did you give me your number?

Unknown: I'm not sure, something about you drew me in.

Me: Oh okay, so what's your name?

Unknown: Grayson

I immediately changed the contact name and heard Jess wake up.

"Lauren!" She whined.

"What?" I laughed at her.

"Why are you laughing?" She pouted.

"Because you're acting like a three year old." I laughed. She huffed and got up.

"I'm hungry" She said, finally acting her age.

"Do you wanna go get pancakes?" I asked.

"Hell yeah!" She yelled with a big grin on her face. "Can I borrow some clean clothes?"

"Of course. I'm gonna go tell Emily that we're going to eat." She then nodded her head and went into my room.

I walked to Emily's room and started shaking her to wake her up.

"Em, wake up." She groaned a little. "Me and Jess are going to go get pancakes." She groggily nodded her head and rolled back to sleep. She didn't get back from work until one in the morning, so I knew she was tired.

I walked back into the living room and waited for Jess.

"Who's Grayson?" Her voice spoke.

"The guy from the cafe, I texted him a few minutes ago and found out his name."

"Ah, okay." She said, handing me back my phone.

While I waited for Jess to get our usual table in the diner, I waited in her car and felt my phone vibrate.

Grayson: Where'd you go?

Me: Sorry, my friend and I are going to get pancakes.

Grayson: Okay, want to talk later then?

Me: Sure. Bye Grayson!

Grayson: Bye!

I saw Jess signaling me in and I got out of the car and walked in. We sat in a booth and didn't bother to look at the menu because we knew it like the back of our hand.

"I think I'm going to get blueberry pancakes today." Jess said and I nodded.

"Hi, I'll be your server today, can I get you two anything to drink?" The waitress said.

"I'll have a watermelon lemonade." I said.

"And I'll have a coke." Jess said.

"Okay, those will be right out." We nodded our heads.

"I'm going to get chocolate chip waffles." I grinned.

Then the waitress came back and gave us both our drinks.

"Thank you." We both said.

"No problem, now, are you two ready to order?" She asked. We both nodded.

"I'll have the blueberry pancakes." Jess spoke.

"And I'll have the chocolate chip pancakes." I added.

"That'll be out for you two shortly." The woman smiled at us.
