Forever?

"Come on then you lot. Essie lift?" Fletch shepherded everyone out
"Yes please Fletch" Essie hugged Sacha "I'll text you, we need to make plans  quickly"
"Hun I'll sort your flight ok? No arguments"
"Thank you"
She turned to Jac  and took her hand "thank you for an 'interesting' meal. Food was delicious" she then pulled her in for a hug and whispered "talk to him" Jac nodded, slightly taken a back by the hug - she was unaccustomed to such displays of affection and looked up to find Fletch smiling his sexy smile at her. She raised a questioning eyebrow and he laughed and turned to leave
"Fletcher aren't you forgetting something" she said making her way to the  door
"Erm I don't think so" he teased
She playfully batted him on the arm
Chuckling he wrapped his arms round her and kissed her very briefly on the lips, aware that they had an audience. "I'll call you later" he whispered against her neck making her tingle
After they'd gone Jac and Sacha sat with a glass of wine on the sofa
"So you and Fletch hatched a little plan to get Essie to come to Australia with me?"
"Well it seemed to make sense" Jac said sheepishly
"You do know that after everything we'll only ever be friends"
"I know" said Jac hoping that that wasn't true "but it'll be nice to have someone to travel with"
"It will" he paused "Fletch is a master of subtlety isn't he?" Sacha laughed
Jac rolled her eyes " he's a fucking liability"
"Aw but you still love him "
Jac blushed. "Of course I love him, that's why I'm allowed to say things like that. If anybody else said that about him I would rip their heads off." She thought about him for a second "however unsubtle , his heart is always in the right place"
"Oh babe, you're really smitten aren't you"
Jac blushed again "it's so unlike me. I'm leaving myself wide open to get my heart broken aren't I?"
"I don't think he'll ever do that hun"
"Mmm. He tells me that we'll be together for the rest of our lives Sach"
Sacha's eyebrows "then I revise my statement - he's really smitten" he grinned and put his arm round me "I'm so pleased for you Jac. You deserve some happiness after everything"
"You know what Sacha, we all do after this last year"
"So what did you say when he started talking about 'forever'?"
"I didn't get the chance to say anything. He went straight off the get the kids and left me standing open mouthed and speechless!"
