Chapter 8

We saw 2 bodyguards holding Drew back,while the doctor and nurses are trying to save David. I just stared at David,lying lifeless on the hospital bed,Ryder pulled me in to his chest,so,I wouldn't see David,I started to cry harder because I was crying earlier just staring at David. We waited for the doctor to say something then he broke the silence

"I'm sorry. We tried everything to get him back"The doctor told us

I cried even harder,Drew was yelling at the doctor,I turned around and saw Drew was trying to get out of the bodyguards grip

"BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE! I NEED MY MATE! I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT HIM!"Drew yelled,he was crying

I got out of Ryder's hold,but he grabbed my wrist,I looked at him

"Cali,Drew might hurt yo-"I cut Ryder off

"I want to see David"I told him

"Be careful"Ryder told me,letting go of my wrist

"I will"I told him

I walked towards David's lifeless body,but then Drew was yelling at me

"This is all your fault,Cali! All YOUR fault!"Drew yelled at me,but I continue to walked to David

When I got there,tears came down my cheeks again,I grab his hand

"David,please come back! I can't live without my best friend. Who's going to help me pick out my clothes when I go out on a date or who's going to annoy me everyday or call each other names" I told David,I laid my head on his chest and started to cry even harder

"Please come back!"I told him

I was pulled away from David,I looked up and saw it was Drew,he looked pissed off,sad and heartbroken,he pulled me in to a hug. I was surprised and shocked because he hugged me when he told me it was my fault. I hugged him back,but was interrupted by the doctor,I pulled away from Drew an looked at the doctor

"He's glowing"The doctor said

We looked at David and he was glowing,somebody was grabbing my hand,I looked down and saw it was David,I was curious because I was still holding his hand,but I didn't let go of his hand when Drew pulled me away from David and when we were hugging,but I started to feel weak,my legs failed me,I gripped the bedside,but I fell to the floor,my hand left David's

"Cali!"Ryder yelled,worried

He ran towards me and checked me,the heart monitor started to beat,I looked up to make sure and it was,the doctor ran towards David and checked if he was okay,the nurses told us that we had to leave,but Drew argued with them,but Ryder pulled him out of the room. So,here we are in the waiting room,waiting. I looked at Ryder,he was staring at me

"What?"I asked him

"Making sure your okay"Ryder told me

"By staring at me"I told him,he rubbed the back of his neck

"Just keeping a close eye on you"He told me,I smiled

"Thanks"I told him

"No problem. Your my mate and I have to take care of you"Ryder told me,smiling,I smiled backed at him and I blushed a little bit

I looked at Drew and he had his head in his hands,I got up and walked towards him,I sat down by him

"Drew"

He looks up at me

"I'm scared,Cali"He told me

"I am,too. But,we have to be strong"I told him,he nodded
