Eight months later

Harry

I was nervously pacing up and down the corridor. A few moments later I heard a sharp cry and my heart exploded with happiness.

I waited patiently for few minutes.

"Mr.Styles?"

"Yes?"

"Congratulations, It's a girl." The nurse said.

"What about my wife?"

"Her life is out of danger and she has regained consciousness." The nurse said and guided me inside.

Inside, Hazel was lying on the bed with our baby in her arms. She looked up at me smiling. I was so happy in that moment and I could tell that she was too.

The baby was sleeping peacefully her in arms while she held one of Hazel's index finger in her tiny hands. I sat down beside her.

It felt like I was dreaming. For a moment we both sat in silence, smiling at each other.

Eight months ago, we lost our daughter in a car accident. She was not Hazel's daughter but Hazel loved her more than her own daughter. She was more traumatised than I was.

She got really weak and sick after Darcy's death. She wouldn't eat much and if she would, she would end up vomiting all night.

It wasn't until I took her to the doctor that we found out that she was one month pregnant. The doctor gave prescriptions  and diet plans for her to follow as she was too weak. She was still not over Darcy's death. She thought she was too weak to survive labour. I tried to tell her that if she followed the prescriptions and diet plans she would be okay.

A few hours ago I was told about Hazel's critical condition and that it was difficult to save her. I couldn't bear another loss. First, I loss Sasha, then Darcy. Loosing her would be the end of me. I was not able to suffer another loss and I just hoped that they saved Hazel.

Looking at her now, alive and safe, I breathed a sigh of relief.

I carefully moved forward to kiss her forehead. She looked up at me and smiled. Her skin pale, dark circles underneath her eyes. Her eyes, filled with tears, tears of joy and pain.

She carefully slid her finger out of the baby's grip and cautiously gave her to me.

I embraced our daughter in my loving arms. My eyes welled up looking at our baby. She was beautiful. I caressed her cheek and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"I'm so happy." I whispered.

"Me too." Her voice cracked as she wiped the tear that left her eye.

"What do you want to name her?" I asked.

"Darcy." She smiled.
