Every once in a while, she would give me a peck on the lips or cheek. She got more affectionate after our monthsarry.

While we were waiting for Paulo, she gave me another peck, and I couldn't help myself but wrap her in my arms and kissed her deeply as I would never let go of her.

I know the boys were already beside us, but I held her more for a bit before letting go.

"Get a room!" they both rolled their eyes, but we only chuckled and went after them.

She was silent, which made me worried.

"Hey, what is it?"

"Hmm? It's nothing," I held her face and looked straight into her eyes.

"Nothing? Really?"

She sighs, "I just feel like... like something bad is going to happen---"

"Nothing bad is going to happen," She stared at me for a long time.

"Please stay,"

"I will, I promise," I kiss her forehead to assure her.

Once we got home, we bade our goodbyes to the boys and went inside.

We went straight up to our room since everyone is already asleep.

We both changed into comfier clothes.

They'd trust us of not doing something naughty, but even if we do it, no one will notice--- though I'd like her to take the lead.

I snuggled her closer to me and kissed her lips before sleep takes over.

^^^^^^^

We were both startled when we heard someone yelling for help.

"Help!!!!!"

We went to where the yelling came from.

It was Jin who was yelling out for help while he was holding Granny Joe in his arms.

Amity ran to them and checked Granny Joe's pulses.

I ran back to our room to call for an emergency.

After the call, I ran back to them.

Amity and Jin were in tears.

"Her pulses are weak," she said while holding Granny Joe's wrist.

"Help is on the way, don't worry. Everything is going to be okay." She hugged me really tight

We wasted no time when the ambulance came. Jin carried Granny Joe and laid her down on the stretcher.

They held Granny Joe's hands.

"Granny Joe, please wake up," they pleaded.

"Amity? Jin?" a doctor approached us once we got to the hospital.

"Doc. Panda---"

"Is it Granny Joe?" They simultaneously nod.

"We have to do the surgery now, or she might not make it,"

"But we still do not have enough money to pay for her surgery,"

"We can perform the surgery now; you can pay us later. We'll just need you to sign a form," They nodded, and Jin signed the form.

We all waited while the surgery was being started.

"Do you want anything?" I asked.

"A bottle of water would be great," she answered, more like a whisper.

I nodded and searched for a nearby vending machine.

Then I remembered, I only brought my phone.

I went back to them, but I overheard their conversation.

"How are we suppose to pay for her surgery?" I heard her ask.

"I'll find a way. Maybe some of my co-workers would be kind enough to let us loan some money. I'm worried about her medication,"

"I'll take another job, anything that'll help us,"

"How about her parents? Can't they---"

"No! They disowned her already... and it's all my fault,"

"Cous, don't blame yourself. She made a choice, and she chose you," I heard her silent sobs as I walk away from them.

Jin's right; my parents can help them.

I'm sorry if I'm breaking my promise, Amity. I'm sorry.
