My alarm clock continued to beep as I crawled out of my bed, attempting to grab my phone from the desk with my eyes half open. Eventually I stopped the horrific noise from torturing me even more, jesus why didn't I pick a nice ringtone.

That's when it kicked in, the realisation of going to meet Emma and her friends today.

"Shit!" I hissed, turning my phone on again to see what the time was, 9:30AM. "An hour and a half, that's ok. I can do this." I reassured myself as I rushed over to my closet and scanned my clothes to see if I could find a cute outfit.

*20 minutes later*

After I put on my outfit, I looked at myself in the mirror and immediately felt a wave of confidence wash over me. I looked good. After appreciating my work, I began to focus on my hair by braiding it into two high plaits. Once I finished, I skipped downstairs to eat my breakfast, a classic banana. Recently I haven't been very into breakfast, I don't know why but it has just happened. I have somehow lost my love for toast and other foods, including cereal which I try to eat even though I am never in the mood.

While scanning through stories on Snap, I look over to the clock and my eyes widen when I see that it was 10:30AM. Immediately, I threw the peel away and jogged up the stairs and into the bathroom, grabbing my toothbrush and toothpaste. Toothpaste covered my teeth as I brushed them in a slightly violent manner, tapping my foot as I waited for the timer to go off. I didn't want to be late today, I couldn't be late today, if I was then what would Emma think?

The timer went off, signalling that three minutes had passed which made me rinse my mouth and put my toothbrush away after washing it.

I returned to my room once again to start on makeup, debating whether or not I should do a full face. I decided not to purely because of laziness, not because of the fact that I had ten minutes to get ready. In the end, I put on a bit of concealer and mascara.

It was all happening so quickly that I didn't notice that it was 10:45AM. "Time to go." I stated before grabbing my white backpack with my phone, keys and money. It took a few seconds for me to rush down the stairs, across the living room and out of the door. All I could think to myself as I got into the car was, god I hope I am not late...

*15 minutes later*

Bloomingdales was right in front of me as the clock in my car screen read "11:00", causing nerves to creep inside of me and gradually build. To my luck I found a parking spot without any problems, but finding Emma was a challenge. She did say to meet her in front of the mall, but there wasn't a specific entrance. My mind assumed that she meant where the escalators were and headed there, jogging across the car park while trying not to get hit.

But she wasn't.

"Uh where are you?" I whispered to myself as I scanned the area, Emma not in sight. Maybe she stood me up?

I was so close to calling her, when I heard a yell from behind me. In response, I screamed and turned around to view the coffee addict herself.

"You're late, twinkle toes." She laughed as her eyebrows began to rise. "It's 11:02."

"I apologise your excellency! Is there anyway I could make it up to you, maybe a thousand coffees?" I asked, walking towards her.

"A thousand coffees sounds nice...but I think hanging out with you is good enough."

I couldn't help but place my hand on my chest. "Awwwwwwwwwww you are so nice."
