Assessing the effects
That poetry can have
And measuring the number of expressions
That will come to pass
Along with all of the possibilities
That poetry can convey and be
So effortlessly
As you plot a course
Of the poetic sort
The meaning and literary substance
To report and purport
Document and speak
An essence and significance
That never goes bleak
And always available
To those that seek
Ever present and within reach
As it appears
To engage with both far and near
With various artistic content
Each times it came and went
And all of the effort put in
With much time spent
And being so evident
To the seen and unseen eye
For poetry resides in its own world
And with a life that moves by
Each and everyone
The darkness around the moon
Or the light around the sun
A literary substance
That stands on its own
And will live on
Even after the poet is long gone
For this will always be
The situation
The determining factor
With every poetic creation
And with a size and effect
That can't be fully measured
Or truly known
For it is unique
And a poet's home
For it is beyond computation
But how interesting it is
To go after and conjure up
A poetic calculation
