"He wanted to get rid of our 40,000 yen debt that Urushihara caused from buying those two tracking devices," Maou reluctantly gave in.
"And you couldn't tell me this because?"
"We didn't want you or the other girls to feel you had any obligation to repay us, since those devices were the reason you were saved."
"...Oh."
"Unfortunately, it would appear as though Lucifer was a victim of acquisition fraud." Suzuno added to the conversation.
"Acquisition fraud?"
"Yes, when someone visits you, promising to purchase your items, the forces you to sell them at fraudulently low prices."
"So, you sold that hard drive to help pay back the debt?" Maou questioned the boy on the floor.
"Yeah..." he answered.
"You really sold your hard drive?" Aiko asked astonished.
He nodded.
The girl then knelt down beside him and placed a hand on his back, giving him a heartwarming, proud smile.
He blushed at the sight and looked down at his feet.
"It would appear he came across a particularly cruel fraudster. It was a hard sell disguised as a purchasing service. By the time I realized something was wrong, it was already as you see here." Suzuno admitted.
"Yeah but...the newspaper and fruit even?! What kind of ripoff artist sells everything from fruit to fire-extinguishers?" Maou questioned.
"I'm sorry. The fruit and newspaper were from other guys..." Hara mumbled.
"What?! Are you kidding me? Just say you don't need that crap, ya idiot!"
"But dude they said they wouldn't leave unless I bought their stuff!" He exclaimed before looking down dejectedly, "They kept on jiggling the door knob...And they sounded so convincing..."
"You are a Demon General, right?..."
"Satan," Suzuno interrupts, "He may be a general, but there is no point berating this fallen angel for not being a smart shopper,"
"Agreed," Aiko adds in, "The newspaper and fruit should be fine right? You can cancel the subscription, and I'm sure the fruit wasn't terribly expensive."
"I would have said no even at half the price, but regardless..."
"Quit rubbing salt on the wounds, Bell..." Urushihara covers his face in embarrassment.
"The problem is the other three items," she continued, "Lucifer..."
"Check it out, Maou," He walks over holding the laptop.
"Deluxe life international holdings?" He reads.
"Whats with that convoluted name?" Aiko asks beside him.
"I tried calling the number listed here..."
"And?"
