"She's not my girlfriend. She's too in love with her life a party girl."
"Pero may chemistry kayo. Ayieee..." Naalala ko tuloy si Eleanor sa 'ayiee' na yun. It was really irritating lalo kapag nang-aasar siya na parang bata.
"Chemistry lang yun."
"Well for me, if you have the chemistry, all you need is the timing. Timing is everything." She told me. She had this expression as if telling me that I should take that as an advice.
An advice for what?
That got me thinking for a while. We just needed the timing? I shrugged before finally ordering a glass of scotch. For some reason, I recalled Eleanor's words:
"Okay, have a fun night. Kung hindi na kita makita mamaya, magpapahatid na lang ako sa kakilala ko. Babye!!"
Napatayo ako at nakaramdam ng panic.
I turned to Allison who was looking at me questioningly, "I'm sorry, I have to go. It was nice meeting you, Allison. That girl is really a pain in the ass." I mumbled my last words softly. I smiled apologetically and she smiled back, saying it was all okay. Then I began searching for Eleanor on the dancefloor.
She's really a pain in the ass. When I spotted her in the sea of faces, I frowned. She's dancing with a guy and she acted like she was having the time of her life. My jaw clenched. Am I going to jail now?
She whispered something to the guy and they laughed afterwards. Nilapitan ko sila kahit siksikan na ang mga tao.
"Eleanor." Napatingin sakin si Eleanor and she was shocked to see me. The guy acknowledged me with his passive eyes. I kept a straight face. I was taller than the guy, that made me feel better.
"Tapos ka na? Asan na yung kausap mo? Nagsungit ka na naman ba?" She asked.
"Let's go." I looked at the guy she was dancing with. He seemed to get the message as he nodded.
"Ang aga pa." Eleanor complained.
I held her wrist, "Tara na." I didn't wait for anything so I pulled her outside.
"Hey Lance, kita na lang tayo after some time!!" Eleanor shouted through the crowd. I held her hand tighter as we made way out of the club.
"Mainit na naman ang ulo mo. Ano bang nangyari?" she asked. I can't seem to remove the frown on my face. Is this the life she lives? Party all night? Kung sino-sino na lang?
"Kung alam ko lang na ganito," I mumbled. It was her turn to frown at me.
"Ano bang nangyari?" I looked at her and for a brief moment, I saw pure concern in her expression. Is that for real? Concerned si Eleanor?
Ha. Ha. Very funny, Chance. She can't even seem to take care of her own condo.
"Nothing. But can you stop flirting with other guys? Dapat kasama kita habang kinakausap yung babae. Kung sino-sino naman yung binibigay mo." I shrugged.
She nodded in understanding, "Yun lang pala. Pero masaya naman diba? Aminin, ayiiee..."
"You were the only one having fun with flirting with that guy." I pointed. Nakakunot lang ang noo ko.
