Chapter 2 Tartarus rescuer is Bestie?!

Percy fell to his knees as the pack of hellhounds circled him and Nico, who was unconscious by the loss of blood.

"Go ahead! Kill me! I give up! I don't wanna live anymore", Percy yelled as he lied on the floor of Tartarus, tears openly falling. A hellhound was about to pounce when there was a burst of golden dust at the back of the pack.

"Oh no, you don't!" A voice yelled as the hellhounds disappeared quickly. Percy felt someone cradle his head and he looked at the face through blurry eyes. She had midnight blue hair which fell to her waist and eyes which looked like a miniature galaxy. She slapped Percy's cheek and he groaned as his vision cleared a little.

"Too hard", He whimpered. The girl seemed to laugh with relief when she heard his voice.

"Phew. At least you can talk. That's a good sign. Now, if you even try to fall unconscious again, Perce, then I'm gonna slap you. You don't wanna wake up with a bruise, right?" She said. Percy didn't even think how she knew her name and instead gave a tiny nod before groaning.

"It hurts", He whispered. The girl held up a tiny diamond shaped vial with a clear blue liquid in it.

"Now, don't swallow, k? Let it melt on your tongue. It will affect in 7 seconds. I'll give you two drops of this. Open your mouth", The girl said.

"Can't", Percy whispered. It was true, it was hard enough to speak, but when he tried to open his mouth, it hurt hard. Probably when he ducked and his legs gave way, hitting his jaw on the floor hard.

"Okay, it's okay. This might hurt", The girl said and slowly pulled Percy's chin down. He cried out in pain. The girl ran her hand through his hair to comfort him as she let go.

"Shh... I'm sorry, Percy. I didn't think it'd hurt that bad. But you'll be okay in seconds", The girl promised.

How? Percy wanted to ask. Even ambrosia can't heal these wounds so fast.

The girl twisted off the cap and dripped two drops in Percy's slightly open mouth.

Percy closed his eyes, feeling the pain drop to a dull throb from his head to his toes, and when he opened his eyes, they felt sharper than ever.

"Wow", He said and sat up, surprised that he could talk easier. He felt more alive than ever. The girl sighed in relief.

"You wake up and first thing you say is 'Wow'? Really original, Percy. Were you in the pit all along? I have scoured the whole planet for you and you turn up here? Know what? I think Wow is right", She said. Percy's eyes widened in realization and he hugged the girl, kissing her for a long minute. The girl immediately kissed back and they enjoyed the reunion before pulling away.

"I missed doing that, Ast. I was thinking, can we start anew? You know, make new memories for the eight years we spent apart?" Percy asked. The girl stood up and nodded.

"Hello, I am Astrid Luna Titania, main title, Princess of the Universe. Nice to meet you", The girl said and held out a hand. Percy smiled and grabbed it, hauling himself up.

"Nice to meet you again, Ast. I'm Percy Jackson, main title betrayed hero of Olympus", He said.

"And your friend?" Astrid gestured to Nico. Percy kneeled beside him in panic. The duo's brotherly bond had grown to the point of unbreakable during the past year.

"He's my younger cousin, no, brother, Nico. Please heal him", Percy begged as he held Nico's hand. Astrid shook her head and Percy looked at her with pain. She smiled slightly before firmly pressing the vial in his hand.

"Your auras have intertwined through your bond. I'd rather let you do it Percy", she said. Percy took off the cap with trembling hands and poured two drops through Nico's mouth which Astrid had opened for him. In a few seconds, they could see the cuts heal and the blood on Nico's body disappear.

Nico gasped as he sat up. He saw Percy and hugged him tightly, crying in his chest, like a vulnerable little kid.

"I-I thought I wouldn't see you again", he said, his voice muffled. Percy hugged back and ruffled Nico's hair.

"I thought so too. But Astrid helped", Percy whispered in Nico's ear. Nico pulled away and looked at the girl. Astrid two-finger saluted with a wink.

"Thanks for taking care of Percy! He would've died if not for you", Astrid said.

"Who are you", Nico asked.

"Hm? Astrid. Princess of the universe, third most powerful being in the world, so on, so on. What are you guys doing here?" Astrid asked. Percy told her the shorter version. Astrid whistled.

"Man, the gods were egoistic, but this? Once we get back home, we can visit the good gods. They'll be glad to see you alive", Astrid said.

"Why are you here?" Nico asked.

"Ah, just running some jobs for my brother. I have to give a package to Bob and Damasen, and do some checks on which monsters are leaving, if problems have arisen, all that", She said.

"What kind of brother sends his sister to Tartarus?" Percy asked.

"My older brother, Tartarus. There are two half pieces of him. One, the bad one, is on earth, and the other, the chill one, lives in the palace on Chaos planet. So I enjoy running random jobs for my siblings now and then. So I'm here. I've finished almost all my job, now the package delivery. You guys wanna tag along? I'll tell dad to let you both in the Phoenix team, chaos army division 1. So?" Astrid said. Percy and Nico exchanged a look.

"Better than staying in Tartarus", both of them said.

"Good! Now, lets look at the map", Astrid said. She took out a phone from a compartment in the tool belt around her waist and held it out. She pressed a few buttons and an hologram map popped up. There were two dots, one blue, the other red.

"We're her. And they're there. Can you both handle the walk?" She asked, pointing to the blue and red dot in turn.
