"...Yes. It's true. My mother was a demon. And my father was an Angel,"
"How the hell did that happen?" The voice came from her left. Hara had finally spoken.
"I honestly have no idea. I have no idea who my father was, and my mother never elaborated on any of it..."
"She never was good at that it seems," The blond murmured.
"...Excuse me?" Aiko answered back. Not exactly knowing how to perceive that.
"May I tell her sire?"
"G'head, you don't need my permission, this is personal business" he respectfully replies.
"...Personal?" Aiko hesitantly asks, looking around the room at every face questioningly.
"Your mother's name was Kynara, yes?"
"Yeah, it was,"
"That is-, was, my sister's name as well," The blond's face seemed to hold a solemn expression after speaking.
Aiko's brows furrowed, trying to understand the importance of the statement...until it hit her like a train. Her eyes widened and she finally broke the tense silence in the room.
"You...you don't mean..."
"Indeed I do. It would seem that you and I are related. More specifically, you are my niece. And I your uncle,"
Aiko could do nothing but stare ahead of her, having to process the fact that she had a living, flesh and blood relative sitting a mere three feet from her.
King Satan's right hand man, and best friend...is her uncle?
'...It's hard to believe...'
"...Why did she never mention you?" The girl finally whispers out.
"That I do not know. But for whatever reason it may be, it must be the same reason why she never mentioned you to me," Aiko's surprised eyes darted up to meet the relaxed golden brown ones of her relative.
"I don't understand...I never understand anything," her fists clench in her lap.
"Can I interject?" Emi vocalizes. After receiving nods from both recipients, she asked her question.
"You mentioned before that your mom had an unconventional job. Does that mean she was in the Demon Army?"
"Yeah, she was. That's what got her killed..."
"But I thought female demon's didn't fight in the war?"
"They don't," Maou confirms, "But Ashiya came to me one day asking to let his sibling be a part of his troops. Said it was important,"
"She came begging. Wanting more than anything to end, as she put it, 'this stupid feud'." Ashiya continues, "It came as a major shock to me, as I had not seen her in centuries. Until she just up and came out of the blue wanting to join my ranks,"
"You mean you two weren't close?"
"Not in the typical sense, no. She was never one for being told what to do. So once I came to power as the leader of our race, she high tailed out of our family. And I had not seen her since."
"I wonder what made her come back," Chiho innocently asks.
"It had to have been something major. To defy the social construct of female's in the army, as well as being bossed around every waking hour-"
"...Me..."
All eyes immediately turned to the bluenette who interrupted the blond.
"Huh?"
"It was me...I was the reason she joined. She told me that after I was born that was when she first started fighting..."
"That, doesn't really make any sense," the Hero counters, "Why would she want to leave you for days on end to join the war?"
"Her father," Urushihara voiced for her, confident in his answer.
"...Whatever happened between them, to conceive me, to have them do such an act that no one would ever dare to do...she was betrayed. She had to have been. She wanted revenge. And joining the Demon Army to help them win was probably the only way she could..."
"That's...."
"So sad..." Chiho finishes for the other female.
"So do you think that whoever threw that dart at you, wants you dead? As like, some way of tying up loose ends?" Maou asks.
"No," Hara answers, "If that's the case they'd have just killed her. They tranqed her instead, so they needed her alive,"
"But I don't know who's after me!"
"I think it is pretty obvious who is after you," Ashiya affirms. The other two demons nodded their heads in agreement, whilst the females were left with confusion as their main facial expression.
All at once, the three males spoke the same, single word.
"Angels."
