"I thought you said we weren't going to be doing this anymore because of what happened last time?"
"What do you mean? It's not like we were going to die."
"Are we just going to disregard the two other people that used to be in this group...but aren't now...because they're dead..."
"Yeah, but we didn't die though so it's fine"

The group disbanded and went their separate ways five years ago and severed all connection with each other as a promise that there wasn't 'going to be any repeats of what happened the years prior. Felicienne breaking away and going off to France, Violet then leaving for Germany, and Reagen choosing to go off to Spain.
...

Each receiving cryptic messages from an unknown number has now brought them back together, for a new round of missions and cases; they have to fall back into the same tricks and routine just like last time whether they want to or not. Each of them thinks that it will only be them being sent on these "one man" missions. Without the knowledge that the other two have gotten the same messages and files; but they'll soon find out eventually.
