7| Surprising Surprises

Start from the beginning

Finally looking in my direction she looked at me head to toe. A slight twinkle was in her eyes, and she opened her arms and we embraced. Stepping back I took her in. Something stirred within me, ad I took in her large voliminous breasts, her dazzling smile, and her green eyes.

     "You look amazing." She says.

"So do you!" I yelled over the music.

The rest of the night went by in a blur, we had a fee drinks, we laughed, we danced. As the night was winding down we sat and looked at the stars. I drank until I felt a buzz of life within me, and until me and Cana giggled excessively. As the party winded down for the night we sat, giggling about any and everything we could think of. We sat on an antique swing, and I was wiping tears from the corner of my eyes after listening to Cana tell me about her high-school days.

"I was a handful back then, still am in some ways." She says, eyes glistening.

She suddenly hops up, turning towards me, and grabbing my hand.

"We should go to the lake. It's a perfect night. Look at the moon and the stars. Come on." She says, pulling my arm gently.

"Alright, but you have to promise we will come back in a timely manner. Work remember?"

"I'm the boss remember." She says smirking.

The drive there was quiet and peaceful. Every now and again we both would spark up a conversation, but it was as if we were both deep in thought. I watched the stars go by as we drove to the lake, and the trees seemed to sway back and forth like some kind of naturistic lullaby. The road winded, and each curve soothed me. It was kind of like swinging back and forth on a swing on a sunny day, but instead your body effortlessly moved into the curve.

It wasn't long before we reached our destination, although it had actually been almost an hour. We both stepped out, and we left our heels behind. We walked around the lake, the plush cool grass soothing our aching feet. Cana had been silent for awhile. I eyed her curiously, but said nothing. Some of the warmth from the drinks was wearing off and I was feeling less giggly.

Finally she paused. She began moving her clothing, and my eyes widened unsure of her intentions until she walked right into the water. Her curvy slim frame disappearing into the water like a siren into the abyss. She turned around smiling. Her red auburn hair was stuck to her face, and her eyes gleamed in the moonlight. She splashed water at me.

"Come on in, the water is fine!"

I stared at her incredulously, and shook my head.

"No way u just got my hair did. Will I get bonus pay?" I say raising a brow.

"And besides that this whole situation reminded me of The Iron Giant."

      She laughed wholeheartedly.

"You are such a nerd Yamina. I adore that about you."

      "Fine why not."

I slip off my dress, and walk towards the water dipping my toe in.

     "It's warm surprisingly."

I glance up, and the only thing I see is water.

     "Cana?"

"Cana where did you go?" I say loudly.

I peer around in the water, walking towards the center. After about thirty seconds I begin to panic. I splash around the water thinking maybe she hasn't heard me. I can't run so I begin splashing frantically, and just as I'm about to dive something yanks my leg and I fall back into the water. I panic momentarily, gulping down water. Seeing that it is Cana I rise up to the surface, hacking my lungs out, and I cross my arms. She comes up laughing and I roll my eyes.

"I could have died!" I say, huffing.

"I wouldn't have let you." She says, looking deeply into my eyes.

She walks towards me slowly, almost hesitantly. I watch her, eyeing her warily. I suspected her of attacking me once more, but soon I relaxed as she danced in circles around me in the water. We splashed each other, raced each other across the waters surface, and soon we were tired. It had to be around four am, birds began to chirp as they often did around this time. We walked back onto grass and plopped onto the ground.

"I had an amazing time. I really did, more so than I have in a very long time. I honestly don't think I've felt more alive than when I first met you. We get along so well, and we just connect." she says, her face turning red.

"I feel the same. When I came here I was stressed and lost. I didn't know what to do. But meeting you and being able to trust you was a relief. It's been a long time since I've had a real friend."

She turns to me, her eyes full of emotion and presses her soft lips against mine. I gasp, but part of me allows it to continue just a little but longer. I back away in the grace getting up. Her face is one of confusion, I see frustration, and a little sadness. I walk towards her once more.

"Cana of course I care about you. We're friends, but that was really unexpected. I think you're amazing too. You're wise, but you live life to the fullest. You have the most amazing personality and--" I pause, hearing branches snap.

I peer into the darkness as a figure approaches, scrambling to grab my clothes, Cana didn't give a damn about modesty. She lay there, as the figure approached I thought that my mind had been playing tricks on me. I scrambled into my dress, nearly falling over. I stood in place, hoping I was just disoriented. The figure approached and stood in the clearing. And my suspicions were confirmed.

"Orion what are you doing here?"

Not only was I embarrassed, but I think I just ruined my chances of being hired but one of the most prominent figures in business. Surely the universe was out to get me.
