Chapter 19

Summer's POV

I am really worried about Tomika as she has lost her voice and she can't do the one thing she loves and she's lost one thing that connected her to her parents. I wonder how she is doing as she missed the rest of classes yesterday. When I went back to my dorm room she wasn't there. I wonder where she is. My thoughts were interrupted by Freddy walking in

Freddy: hey summer

Summer: hey Freddy, what's up

Freddy: just came to check on Tomika

Summer: she wasn't in here when I came back after classes and she never came back

Freddy: what why didn't you say anything

Summer: I thought she would of come back by now

Freddy: come on we have to tell the others

Summer: yeah ok

And with that Freddy grabs my hand and we run to the dance studio to find everyone but Tomika there

Josh: where's Mika

Summer: she never came back yesterday

Josh: this is not good

Zack: josh what do you know that we don't

Josh: I got a call from her doctor yesterday

Lawrence: what did he say

Josh: he said that she lost her voice because of her rare condition that affects her vocal cords

Zack, Freddy, summer, Lawrence and mr Finn: WHAT

Josh: yeah and I think I know where Tomika is

Zack: where

Josh: graveyard

We all then run to the graveyard to find a crying Tomika against her parents graves. I then see Zack go up to her and pull her closer to his chest and she starts to calm down

Zack: babe what's wrong

Tomika then shakes her head

Zack: is this about your rare condition babe

Tomika starts to look worried and she gets out of zacks grip and runs away

Josh: ok that's new

Lawrence: how do we get through to her to say that we're here for her

Josh: I don't know

And with that we try and find Tomika

Tomika's POV

How did they find out about my rare condition I never told any of them. I freaked out when Zack said that I ran away to the treehouse my dad built me. The others don't know about it so I know they won't find me here. I just need time to myself. My thoughts were interrupted by my phone going off which means I'm getting a text. I see that it is Zack so I answer

ON TEXT

Zack: babe where are you

Tomika: I need to be alone right now

Zack: we are all here for you Tomika just remember that ok

Tomika: yeah I know

Zack: don't shut us out babe we can help you

Tomika: bye Zack

END OF TEXT

I then turn my phone off and start crying again. They can't help me not with my condition. They think they can help get my voice back but they can't, my voice is never coming back

MEANWHILE WITH THE OTHERS

nobody's POV

Summer: what did she say Zack

Zack: she needs to be alone right now

Josh: this is bad

Lawrence: josh you ok

Josh: she's pushing us away, it happened when her parents died she didn't let anyone in and her condition got worse

Freddy: condition

Josh: yeah a month after her parents died she was diagnosed with another condition but I had no idea about the first one

Summer: why don't you try tracking her phone Lawrence

Lawrence: yeah

Lawrence then goes over to his laptop and tracks Tomika's phone but as she has it off he can't get her location

Lawrence: she's turned her phone off

Josh: we need to think like Tomika then. If you were Tomika where would you go

Freddy and summer: skatepark

Lawrence: studio

Zack: dance studio

Josh: ok Freddy and summer will go to the skatepark, Lawrence will go to your recording studio and hers and me and Zack will go to the dance studio and hers got it

Summer, Freddy, Zack and Lawrence: got it

Josh: we go tomorrow as it's getting late

Summer: sounds good. We will not stop looking for her

Zack, Freddy and Lawrence: agreed

And with that we all made our way to our dorm rooms as tomorrow we look for Tomika
