"Last season of The Bachelor we left off with Derek on the shores, proposing to Lydia."

Lydia was absolutely stunning, letting the ocean breeze take her hair away. She wore a beautiful flowy lavender gown that made her look like she was a floating cloud. She was his heaven, he knew that.

They embraced one another, feeling him press his hand against her back tightly. She adored the way his muscles felt against her petite frame, as she could snuggle fully into his embrace.

When they broke apart, a wave had collided with a rock, hitting against the shore. Derek looked down at the stunning woman before him, taking her delicate hands in his. He knelt down on one knee, leading her to clasp a hand over her mouth, slightly shocked, but at the same time, she saw it coming. Derek hadn't said any words yet, but Lydia's joy rested in the tears welling in her eyes. He was proposing to her.

"Lydia Martin, I-I," Derek was staring straight into her glistening green eyes, but he couldn't formulate any words. And that's when he knew, he couldn't go through with this.

He quickly stood back up, and Lydia realized she was now crying for the wrong reasons. "I'm sorry I just can't. I made a mistake." He shook his head several times.

Lydia was left stunned, her reaction was captured on camera. "I don't understand," she shook her head in disbelief. This was the man that she pictured as her husband, the second she stepped out of the limo. Although Derek could be a bit grumpy, he was always smiling at Lydia. He had shown her the vulnerable, sweet guy, not just the sexy, brooding hunk. He had given her the first impression rose, they had been on two spectacular one-on-one dates, met each other's family, and spent a night together in the fantasy suite.

Now here they were, what was supposed to be the happiest moment of her life, had turned to the worst. Derek was rethinking his proposal, second-guessing all the time they had spent together, and it hurt. Lydia was getting her heart broken on national television.

"Was it something that I said? Did your family not like me? Do you not love me anymore?" Lydia was beginning to spiral, tears streaming down her puffy rosy cheeks.

Derek had to answer her, considering she had every right to know. It was the least he could do. He placed his hands on her forearms and as much as she wanted to escape his grasp, she yearned for his comfort. "Lydia, nothing you said was wrong. My family loves you and you fit so perfectly with us. And I do still love you."

"Then what the hell happened?" Lydia was angry, her blood boiling. Her confusion and sadness had taken over.

Before he could reply she continued. "You told me you pictured a life with me! You told me you wanted me to be your wife!" As much as she didn't want to make a big scene, her emotions had convinced her it was the only way she would receive a straight answer.

Derek had to recompose himself, slightly cut by Lydia throwing shards of her heart at him because he still cared for her. "I thought I had made my decision as soon as I woke up this morning. After sending Braeden home, I'll admit that I had a slight doubt that I'd made the wrong decision. I didn't regret my decision to send Braeden home until I got down on one knee.  When the words didn't come out, I realized-" he was at a loss of words.

She nodded in response. There was nothing she could do. It was clear Derek didn't want to be with her, so why fight him? The sooner Lydia accepted it the faster she'd move on. Lydia finished his sentence because she knew he didn't have the balls to say it. "You realized it wasn't me," her voice was quiet as tears streamed down her face. She had been so close to finding a person to share her life with only for him to realize that he didn't want her anymore.
