It was a humid day, and the sun was being completly unreasonable. It felt like the world was on fire, and even worse, I was stuck with this bimbo. I looked over to my best friend Alina Mctate, who was talking about the pool or nail polish, I wasn't too sure. All of sudden she stopped walking and let out a small shriek. I should have known she was up to something, her eyes twinkled and a wide smile spread across her face. Before I could look to what she was staring out, she pushed me into something. When I looked up, it took me a while to figure out what it was, because the sun was in my eyes and the heat burned my other senses. When I had finally gotten my vision back, I was in the arms of Alex Sweetie, my crush since the 8th grade.
"Are you ok?" Alex said in a soft and gentle voice.
My heart was racing, pounding, and my hands were shaking. Say something! Anything! Talk! I could hear my inner thoughts shouting at me, pressuring me. I need to say something or he'll think I'm some sort of freak!
"U-um. I-I-I LIKE YOUR EYEBALLS!"
Ughhhhh! What did I just say!?! My inner thoughts was a storm now. Alex's face looked confused, shocked, and probaly weirded out. I ran out of there before he could even say anything. 'I like your eyeballs!?!' Where did that even come from! The only thing louder than my exploding heart and the storm of my inner thoughts, was Alina's non-stop laughter from behind me. There goes any chance I had with Alex. I could feel my heart being twisted and crushed right in my chest.
After that embarrassing incident, Alina treated me to ice cream--still laughing.
"Could you stop laughing. It wasn't even that funny." I tried to say it in a stern voice but failed. Alina was too cute and reeked of positivity. I couldn't ever be mad at her even if I tried.
"It kinda is." Alina said as she struggled to stop laughing. I rolled my eyes at her, and then looked down to the floor.
"He probaly thinks I'm some freak." My voice was kinda shaky, I tried to say it without sounding heartbroken. Alina grabbed my face with both of her hands, smushing my cheeks. I gave her a stern look, and she chuckled a little.
"You were cute back there, don't worry." Alina whispered to my puffed up face, and my look turned softer. There was always something about Alina's eyes and voice that puts me in such comfort. "He'll talk to you again, you left quite the impression on him."
"You think so?" I whispered back.
"I know so," Alina's dark blue eyes were starring right at me like daggers. "Now eat your ice cream, it's melting."
Alina's voice sounded so strong and confident. She always manages to keep me cool on hot days, and heated on cold days. I've known Alina since the 6th grade and we've been glued to the hips ever since. She has always had lots of self-confidence, and a mind for adventure. Back in middle school, I would always end up in detention with her. No matter how many times we were yelled at and put in detention, I never once regretted what we did. After we ate our ice cream, we kinda just roamed around the mall until the sun went down.
I tried staying up late that night, so my grim consciousness wouldn't play back today's incident in tonight's dream. However I ended up getting knocked out around 11. In my last struggle to stay awake, I dreaded tomorrow where I would have to see him again.
