i sit in the corner of the fake room, watching him slowly breathe

i just can't believe he's here right now

i thought he was dead for over seventy years

*flashback*

"i've got to put it in the water, y/n" steve says over the intercom

"no, please don't" i beg

"i've got to"

i let a sob escape my mouth

"y/n" he says over the sound of the engine failing

"i'm here" 

"i love you. i've always loved you" and with that, we lost his connection

i never got to tell him that i love him too

*end of flashback*

i let the tears fall down my face as i remember

"come on, y/n. go home for the night" furry begs

i shake my head, wiping my tears

"i'm not leaving him"

he nods and hands me a blanket and pillow

"thank you" i say, taking them from him

he nods before he leaves and shuts the door

i lay my head down on the pillow as i pull the blanket over me

i stare at the ceiling as memories flood my brain

*flashback*

"hi, i'm bucky" a handsome soldier says

i smile at him "nice to meet you bucky"

he smiles widely as he wraps his arm around a smaller figure

i look over and see the guy nervously smiling "hi, i'm steve"

his voice catches me off guard

it's such a deep voice for such a small guy

i step down from my stool and see that steve is my height as bucky towers over the both of us

"care to dance?" i ask

"sure" bucky says with a big smile

i shake my head, looking at steve

"steve" i say, catching his attention

he looks up at me with his big blue eyes "care to dance?"

he smiles widely and blushes "oh, uh, i can't really dance"

"and why not?"
