"y/n, i need you here now" steve begs over the phone

"is bucky having a bad day?" i ask, immediately worried

there's a crash in the background

steve sighs "it's worse than i've ever seen"

"i'll be there soon" i say and hang up

i walk to my bosses office and run in

"y/n, are you okay?" he asks, worried

"no, family emergency. i need to go" i say, stumbling over my words

"that's okay, go on" he says

"thank you" i shout as i run out of the building

i run in the door of the avengers tower, seeing everything thrown around

i hear a crash upstairs

i run towards the noise and see even more of a mess

steve is in the corner of the room, looking around at the mess

bucky is sitting on his bed, hunched over, breathing heavily, head in his hands

"baby" i coo

they both look up at me

"y/n" steve says relieved

i smile "go start cleaning up"

he nods, running down the stairs

i walk over to bucky and crawl into his lap

i reach up and hold his head in my hands

"baby, what happened?" i ask, softly

he shakes his head as he holds me close

"i just- i can't take it anymore" he mumbles into my neck

"take what, baby?"

"take you being away from me all day, every day"

i pull away from the hug and look into his sad, blue eyes

"but baby, i can't just quit"

"yes, you can. live here with me. please" he begs

i smile "but bucky, tony hasn't even-"

"no, i've asked him thousands of times and he said he wouldn't mind. please, please, please"

i smile and capture his lips in mine

"if it makes you happy, then i will quit my job and live with you" i whisper

he smiles widely and jumps up with me still in his embrace

"thank you so much, doll"

i smile "your welcome, buck"

i walk to my boss's office and knock

he looks up and smiles, inviting me in

i sit in a chair and nervously look at him

"so everything okay?" he asks

i nod "yeah, but there's something else now"

"what is that?" he asks, curiously

"i'm quitting. i've already packed up my stuff. i just had to let you know"

his face becomes angry as he stands up "you'll never find another job like this one"

"that's kind of the point"

"you'll never find one as good as this one"

i smirk and stand up "oh, but you're wrong"

he looks at me, doubting my answer

"i'll be working for tony stark"

his face goes white for a moment, before he regains himself

"you're lying" he calmly says

i shrug "you don't have to believe me"

"well i don't. you're lying"

i smirk and turn around "baby, i'm ready to go now"

bucky walks in and offers me his hand, before looking behind him

"do i need to fuck him up for you?" bucky asks, tauntingly moving his metal arm

i giggle "no, come on"

bucky nods and smiles, holding my hand as we walk out of the building, carrying my stuff to the car

"tony, are you sure you are okay with me staying here?" i ask, unsure

he looks up at me and smiles "of course, y/n. i consider you family"

i smile and hug him, catching him off guard

a minute later, i feel his arms wrap around me

i pull away and smile

he smiles back "i still can't believe you quit your job for him"

i shrug "i love him"

he nods, patting my shoulder "i know you do"

"y/n, that wasn't a good idea" steve says

i roll my eyes "steve, i did it for bucky. the last time he got mad, he said it was because i was never around"

steve nods, now smiling "okay, then it wasn't a smart idea. but you did it for love"

i smile "yes, i did"

"hey baby" bucky says, sitting next to me

"hi cutie" i say, leaning my head on his chest

"i do have to admit that he is happier now" steve points out

i smile and look up at a smiling bucky

"yeah, he is"
