The smell of hair bleach was pungent, stinging. Aside from his hair, Jin's face seemed to be alight as well. He'd been sporting for far too long what, to Namjoon, looked like an almost painfully, bright beam ever since Yoongi had given him that call, the prospect of the next few months and the work that they had in store for him making him feel like he could float - despite what it all meant and the strings attached. But everything came at a price and a risk, and he'd accepted that long ago.

"You know," Namjoon began, the guy seemingly appearing out of thin air, crossing his arms and looking at Jin from the doorway of the small bathroom, "I still don't think you've thought this through enough..."

Jin glared a bit at Namjoon's reflection from the mirror, his gloved hands stopping the raking motions they'd been doing to his once dark, oak locks, the short amount of time the bleach had been in now having turned it an autumn-esque color. "Don't worry about it. I have nothing to lose." He ended his sentence with a smile (or an attempt at one). He continued soaking his hair with the bleaching solution until he was satisfied with the amount he'd applied, taking the plastic gloves off his hands and throwing them in the trash bin beside the sink afterwards.

"Aren't you supposed to put aluminum foil on that or something?" Namjoon asked, sensing that Jin was desperate for a subject change. That he was good at: reading people - especially Jin, he'd been his roommate for almost two years now after all.

"My hair is hardly long enough for that," Jin chuckled, reaching over to a small shopping bag to retrieve a shower cap he'd bought instead; Namjoon reckoned Jin's aspiring-actor, superstar pride got in the way of him wearing a simple plastic bag around his head, but that was none of his business.

"If you go bald, I'll have the obligation to say 'I told you so."

"Yeah, yeah."

And Jin didn't go bald. Just under an hour passed. They'd moved over to the kitchen sink where Namjoon had nicely done him the favor of washing his hair, giving him a weird look every once in a while when he wasn't completely avoiding eye contact. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Jin couldn't help but ask as Namjoon reached over for the towel he'd brought with them, tossing it at Jin's face.

"You're going to regret ever doing this, Jin..." he warned, looking uneasy, "Just end it now."

"I can't." Jin looked down at the ground, drying his hair off so as to not look at his roommate.

"And why the hell not?"

"I-" Jin bit the inside of his cheek, inner turmoil eating at him. He felt guilty. He really did. He was deceiving Taehyung. Taehyung of perfect smiles and soft words. He didn't deserve it, any of it. But Jin was not one to leave loose ends untied. That was both his blessing and curse, his cross to bear. "Just let me think of something until filming starts."

"You already got the role, Seokjin! It's done. You've done your side of the deal, give it a rest! Someone is going to end up hurt."

"Taehyung has backbone, he'll get over it."

He was lying to himself, and though he wanted to keep that thought to himself, it was as if Namjoon ripped it from his brain before he could lock it away in the back of his mind. It was, again, what Namjoon did best. And maybe he didn't know the full story - or what was soon to unravel, though to be fair, no one, not even Jin, could've guessed what that was exactly - but he most definitely knew enough. Namjoon and his self-fulfilling prophecies. "You're a good actor, but you're a terrible liar," the younger laughed, no actual humor in his voice.

He walked away then, Jin. He left to the bathroom, shutting the door and locking it this time. Staring into the mirror, damp, platinum blonde hair shining brighter than his old brown ever did, he sighed in defeat, realizing Namjoon was right, as he always was.

This was real. No scripts. No cameras. And he was falling when he wasn't supposed to, and that was real too.

Yay, I'm excited for this!¡! I know it sounds pretentious™ and trashily cryptic so far, but please, I promise it'll get better...at some point :]
