"It's finally here. The letter I've been waiting for."

Seo Minji has been pacing back and forth as she held the letter that may change her future.

"Mimi~ why don't you take a seat?" Her mom's sweet voice only made her panic even more.

It was still the middle of a bright day but she felt like the sky has dimmed. Or maybe it was her vision that's failing her. She was almost close to fainting.

Her dad only laughed as he tried to make her calm down. He asked his boss earlier this morning whether he could go home, after Minji sent him a text saying that the results were finally mailed to them.

He made a promise to himself:
If her daughter passes, he'll take them out to eat.

If she fails... he would do anything to prevent her from feeling sad.

That's how her parents have been. Supportive and loving.

What if I failed? My parents don't expect anything but I would still feel like a disappointment if I don't pass this board exam... Racing thoughts made her stop in her tracks and stare at the envelope. I should probably open it now.

A pair of hands suddenly got in the way, "Got it!" Seo Jinwoo snatched Minji's letter away from her tight grip. It was surprising that the letter didn't rip in half.

Minji ran towards him, her eyes close to crying, "Give it back! Why did mom and dad have to adopt someone like you?"

"That's 'cause they needed a perfect child and they never thought they would later give birth to a dumb daughter like you." He stuck out his tongue and continued to wave the piece of paper in front of her.

"What nonsense are you kids spouting again? You are both my children!" Her mom had enough so she smacked both of their heads with a wooden spoon.

Yes, this is the Seo household. A family full of love and fun.

The only thing that stood in the way of Minji's happiness is a piece of paper. She took the nursing licensure exam 2 weeks ago and now, her fate has been written inside this envelope.

Minji finally sat down and proceeded to open it. As she carefully ripped the white envelope apart, her parents hovered over her while her brother may seem like he doesn't care, but he kept his eyes glued to her every movement.

She read the content out loud, not a single noise can be heard from each of them as Minji spoke, "Dear Seo Minji, we are pleased to inform you that you have passed your licensure exam. We wish you luck as you begin your journey..."

As if a thorn has been pulled from her heart, she jumped in joy and was startled when even her brother lifted her up.

"I knew you could pass it!" Jinwoo hugged her tight.

This was the way the Seo siblings lived. One moment they're in each other's throats, then the next moment they'll be hugging each other. They believed that the success of one, is also another's victory.

"Let's go eat then!" Her dad grabbed his keys and went upstairs before Minji could notice his eyes swelling up.

Her mom followed and as soon as they were out of sight, both parents hugged each other and silently cried because their baby girl now fulfilled her dreams.

Once the reality has sinked in, Minji realized that her 4 years of sacrifice was not in vain. The times she skipped meals, sleep, and invitations from her friends were all worth it.

"Hey oppa... Am I really a nurse now?" She mumbled, her feet fidgeting.

Jinwoo approached her, displaying a wide grin, "don't worry, it will all make sense, once you have a job. You might find yourself in a great deal within the next few days." He tapped her shoulder and made his way out the house together with their parents.

A job... as a nurse. Now that's a whole new level of anxiety. Minji brushed off her worries aside.

"Let tomorrow's me deal with tomorrow's problems..." she grinned as she locked the door and made her way out, proud of what she had accomplished.
