5 year old Jungkook sat on the chair near his window, looking up at the stars. He's been feeling sad lately. The only person who loved him, his grandmother, had passed away recently. And his parents didn't even bother to break the news in the gentlest way possible.

"The old hag died" Was the only thing Jungkook got from his parents regarding his dear grandmas passing. His parents didn't particularly want kids. They were young and stupid when Jungkook's mother got pregnant with him. They both wanted an abortion but Jungkook's grandma, his mothers mother, refused to let that happen saying she will take care of the little baby. And that was the case. Jungkook's mother kept the baby and her mother moved in with them instead of them just giving Jungkook away to her. Insisting that a baby should be close to his mother. Mrs. Jeon didn't exactly want to have the baby in her house, but arguing with her mother was worse than just giving in. So 5 years passed and Jungkook was raised by his grandmother while his parents lived under the same roof, not caring about him one bit.

Jungkook cried for days. Annoying his parents by it even more. His parents weren't totally heartless. They wouldn't let a child starve to death or anything near that. But that was just common courtesy. They didn't care for him like he was their child. He was just someone they felt obligated to take care of. So they fed him well, bought him anything necessary to live. But nothing more. They didn't talk with him, never held him when he was scared or lonely. They never loved him.

Because of his parents easy irritation, Jungkook learned to be quiet and withdrawn. This kind of personality reflected in the outside world aswell. Hence why he hadn't made any friends in kindergarden. So here he sits by his window looking at a particularly bright shining star.

"Are you as lonely up there as I am here?" Little Jungkook mumbled to himself. He doesn't talk to anyone else so talking to himself is the only way not to forget how to speak.

"Must be scary, being in space all alone. It's all dark and cold" He continued. He rested his head on the palm of his hand and stared up with loving eyes. Jungkook had a pure soul. He looked at the world with such loving eyes despite being deprived from love from the most important people in his life. Jungkook loved his parents with all his might, made cards for every holiday and birthday, never talked back and always tried to do his best in everything hoping to make them proud. But they were anything but proud.

"I wish mom and dad had more money so they wouldn't have to work so much, they look very tired every day" Jungkook sighed and for a second he swore he saw the star shine a little brighter. But Jungkook being a clueless child brushed it off. "Maybe that's normal"

Few moths passed and Jungkook had forgotten all about his wish. But his wish came true anyway. His parents got both promoted, making their pay higher and working hours lessen. Jungkook thought that maybe now they would be home more and because of that they could bond. Well Jungkook thought wrong. Now that they had more time they went out more. Jungkook was sad he still almost never saw his parents but if it mean they were happy, Jungkook was happy. After Jungkook's grandmothers sudden death, they hired a nanny to cook and help around the house.

Years passed and things between him and his parents never changed. Jungkook will always be a burden who took their youth away from them. Still Jungkook always loved them. And he always wished on a star. The same star that shone the brighest to him. His star.
