I had initially turned to ask you something
but you were lost in your thoughts
so unaware of your natural beauty
the light streamed through the window and reflected slightly off your nose and cheeks
it illuminated your eyes
it was like watching an animal at the zoo
radiant
majestic
in their own element
aware of your presence
but not really caring
it was like
seeing an unexpected rainbow
a welcome surprise
to see you lacking the worry lines
that life sometimes forces upon you
eyebrows relaxed
lips in a simple pout
just gorgeous
it makes me wonder what you are thinking of
is it me
is it you
is it us
you finally looked up and caught me staring
it was embarrassing
but only because
you
have that effect on me
whenever I meet your eyes
I can't help the blush and smile
that graces my features
To have the honor
of being in the company
of such a simple yet complex creature
So human and so godlike
at the same time
A book I love to try to read
even if I will never truly fully understand all the words
I still get excited
every time I get the quiet uninterrupted moments
to just sit and stare at the pictures.
