"Nothing ma'am" one of them responded innocently

"Go back to the cafeteria"

They quickly turned on their heels and rushed in the direction of the cafeteria. I turned my attention to the little boy getting picked on and to my surprise it was Leroy. I never knew that he went to this school. He was the son of the maid that worked at Kevin's parent's house. This was a little too far for him to go to school considering where he lived

He looked up at me through his big brown eyes and thick long lashes. I didn't know that he had started school yet.

"Leroy"

He didn't respond. All he did was blink at me. Had he already forgotten who I was? Not that he was a child of many words. All I ever heard him say was the word 'up' but with the way he always followed me around whenever I was at Kevin's parents place, I highly doubted that he had forgotten me

I dropped down to his level "So you're going to pretend that you don't remember me? That's how you're going to play this?"

I smiled when he folded his little arms across his chest and looked down "Come on sweetheart. Let's get you to class"

I held out my hand and he took it "But you have to show me where your class is because I don't know where it is ok"

He nodded and led me to his class. His friends were inside so I was wondering how he found himself wondering the halls. His teacher Miss Rae seemed shocked to know that he had left her class without her noticing.

I went off to my car but not before telling him to stay in class and not wander the halls alone. After lunch the kids had naptime which is the only time during the day when they were quiet... well that and during story time. Rachel read them a book about cats and the kids were quiet as they listened to her read. It was adorable to see how much attention they were giving her.

Parents flooded the school when it was finally time for them to pick up their kids. That's when we saw happy children rushing out whenever their parents appeared at the door of the classroom. When all the kids had finally left we stayed back for about two hours to make sure everything was in order and in preparation for the next day.

I was tired when I finally got off work. I got a text from Hannah saying she wouldn't be coming back to the house which meant I was going to be home alone. Making up my mind I rushed home, took a shower and packed a bag to head over to Kevin's. I picked up pizza on the way over even though I knew he wouldn't be home for a while

I watched TV while I ate and I was pretty tired by the time I was done. I turned it off and headed over to the bedroom. I brushed my teeth and got into bed sleeping on his side because it smelt more like him than the side I slept on. It wasn't long before I fell asleep.

The next time I opened my eyes was to the dipping of the bed. I didn't have to open my eyes to know that it was him. He got into the duvet and pulled me to him. I snuggled in closer to his embrace. His body was just as warm as always

"Hey" I mumbled

"Hey" he sounded tired "I didn't expect to find you here"

"Hannah wasn't home"

"Okay. Go to sleep"

He didn't have to tell me twice

I woke up to the sound of the shower and got up when I saw that it was 6am in the morning. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth by the sink

"Morning"

"Morning" he responded

I cleaned the fogged up glass and brushed my teeth. He came out of the shower and grabbed a towel before giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I took a quick shower and got dressed. Kevin was already eating breakfast when I went to the kitchen.

I made myself a bowl of cereal and sat down opposite him.

"How was work yesterday?" I asked with a smile "Was it as awesome and dramatic as it looks on Tv?"

My second question pulled a small smile on his face. He put his elbow on the table and rubbed his chin with his index finger

"Everything is exaggerated on TV. I would say more dramatic than awesome and yesterday wasn't awesome"

"Why?"

"I had to do a disimpaction yesterday"

"Well... it sounds interesting"

He shook his head "It's not as-"

He paused and something akin to a sinister smile appeared on his face "You know what? It is interesting. Want me to tell you about it?"

"Sure" I shrugged

"The patient was severely constipated so I basically had to lubricate the anus..." My spoon stopped in mid air at the mention of someone's anus "then insert my finger and break the hardened stool using a scissoring motion" he said leisurely "After that, the soft brown stool came out on it's own. She had been constipated for a very long time so I'm sure you can imagine just how much came out of her"

I looked down at my bowl of brown cereal and put my spoon down "You just had to ruin my breakfast, didn't you?"

He smirked "You asked"

I got up from my seat and headed out of the kitchen "You're an ass"

"I'm your ass" he chuckled

When I got home from work that evening I was happy to see Hannah and Richard home. They were cuddled up on the couch watching the latest episodes of Archer.

Poor Richard probably had no idea what he had gotten himself into on that one.

I had to admit that it had been kind of weird seeing them like that in the beginning but I had gotten used to it. The only downside to them dating was that they didn't really have time for me. I know it sounds a little selfish but back then when one was busy I would talk to the other though Hannah more than Richard. Now it just wasn't the same. Don't get me wrong I was happy for them but I still needed my friends. I wasn't exactly loaded in the friend department. I could talk to Anne but it just wouldn't be the same

"Hey" I greeted

"Hey" They answered in unison

"Your food's in the warmer" Hannah called out as I headed to the kichen

"Thanks"

There was rice with chicken stew. I got my food and joined them on the couch.

"What time did you get back?" I asked

"Sometime in the afternoon" she replied

Richard turned his attention from the TV to me "How is it going babysitting crying babies all day? Change any diapers yet?"

"Hahaha" I rolled my eyes "It's going great. They're getting used to me now. I even got an apple which means I'm doing something right"

"I'm sure you're an awesome teacher" Hannah commented

"She may be an awesome teacher but she's not as awesome as you" Richard cooed rubbing his nose against hers

They started making out and that's when I decided to take my leave. They were too busy to even notice me standing up from the couch. I put the leftover food in the fridge and made my way upstairs for a good night's rest
