I had no idea how to react to the onslaught, considering the fact that he kissed me harder the more I fought him off, so for a few seconds, I went with the flow (to be honest, I just wanted someone to keep kissing me. I was vaguely sexually frustrated.)

'You know this is technically some form of assault, right?' Some part of me, the more sensible part of me, interjected.

The veil of lust was slowly lifted from my eyes, and I bit him on the lip. Hard.

"What the hell was that?" he asked, affronted by the fact that I just bit him.

"What the hell was THAT? Why the hell would you barge into my house, grab me like a sack of potatoes, and throw your lips on mine for no reason? Are you on drugs?" I asked him while angrily swiping the back of my hand over my lips to get the feel of him off.

He stood there, gaping at me like a deer caught in headlights. He seemed as astonished by his actions as I was. Instead of answering me, he stood and stared at me for what felt like forever.

"Look, I don't have all day, so if you're not going to explain, get out. I don't have time to deal with your drama right now."

I truly wasn't about to miss any more of my show, so I turned away from him and continued watching.

"I couldn't wait any longer. I had to see you," he said, walking towards me.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean? What is this, a melodramatic soap opera? What are you doing?" Cassandra shouted from where she was, eating popcorn she made by the counter in the kitchen.

"Cassandra, what are you still doing here?" he asked her, apparently surprised by the fact that she was still in the room.

"Well, I was sitting in my room, reading an amazing book, when the doorbell rang, but Alexis wasn't willing to open the door for you, so I had to do it.

I would have gone back, but when you assaulted her, I had to stay and see whether my best friend needed help or not. When she started kissing you back, however, I knew I had to stay for the drama that was about to unfold."

"Cass, thank you for that, however, I think he was just about to leave," I said, giving our intruder a pointed look before sitting back down and continuing with my program.

"Alexis. I'm sorry. Please give me a chance to apologise."

"For what? Coming into my apartment uninvited, assaulting my throat with your tongue, or all the moments before that when you've been a complete asshole?"

"Okay, I may have deserved that, but-"

Before he could finish, he was interrupted by a simultaneous incredulous snort from both myself and Cassandra.

"I'm sorry. I had some bullshit stuck in my throat. It's an old apartment. Not well ventilated. Sometimes it just permeates the place." I said, giving him a look that clearly signalled that the only bullshit in the room was what was spilling out of this mouth.

"Okay, let me rephrase: I DID deserve your hostility." He said with an exasperated sigh. "But I'm here trying to apologise."

"Try harder. " Cassandra said from where she was, now sitting on the counter, still eating her popcorn but now also drinking what smelled like peppermint tea.

The look he gave her could have instantly vaporised ice, but it seemed that at that moment, nothing could have deterred Cassandra.

"Don't look at me like that, pretty boy." She said, defiantly looking at him with a raised eyebrow. "Your interactions with Alexis are often entertaining, from what I've seen of the pair of you, so unfortunately for you, sir, I'm not going anywhere. My room is very dreary today, what with Ryder being out of town, and I'm not a huge fan of Lexi's show, so you're stuck with me, Romeo. Deal with it."
