The night sky shinned brighter that night. The breeze was cold and the atmosphere was peaceful. It was supposed to be a normal day for Athena. Getting groceries, cooking dinner for her family and tucking her daughter to bed. Instead, there she was, in the middle of the night running frantically to reach her home

'There's no time to waste' she thought to herself as she gazed at the full moon. Her eyes never losing focus as she swiftly ran across the forest without making too much noise

Finally arriving at the small cabin in the middle of the forest, she impatiently knocked at the door two times but there was no answer.

'Knock, knock'

She proceeds to knock twice each time but there was still no response. This led her thoughts to wonder into the worse case scenario. She sighed and raised her hand to use what's left of her weakening power and unlock the stiff metal door . The door swung open and she did not waste anymore time. she ran upstairs desperately looking around the whole place as cold sweat trails down her chin

"I'm here, mother" relief washed over Athena when she heard a small voice at the corner of the room. A cute little girl with long black hair that looked soft as petals, deep blue eyes and skin white as silk slowly made her way into her direction cautiously. She narrowed her eyes as if she was doubtful if it really is her mother in front of her or just a replica that might lead to a trap

"What comes after the rain?" Amaythst asked abruptly still standing a meter away from her. She also did not move an inch. She didn't want to frighten her daughter even more than she is now. Instead, she answered her, chucking a bit because of the childish questions

"Rainbow" she answers. But this did not satisfy Amathyst she proceeds to ask more questions that Athena immediately answers

"What's my favorite food"

" Chicken wings"

"Name of my pet fish that died three years ago?"

"Chevy, and it was only two years ago"

"How many spells do you know"

"More than I can count"

Athena answers staring deep into her daughter's eyes. Amaythyst was once nearly assassinated because there was an intruder that used magic to manipulate his own appearance. He disguised himself as her husband and tried to kill Amathyst

Fortunately Athena woke up right before her daughter was about to get stabbed with a silver stake. After that we instructed her to never trust a person just because of their appearance and ask them first specific questions that only Amathyst, Magnus and herself knows.

Athena gave her an apologetic smile with worried eyes. It seems her panicking steps and her banging on the door earlier startled her sweet daughter. She took careful steps and approached her

Amathyst who was eagerly awaiting for her mother's arrival smiles back at her reassuringly. She spread her arms indicating that she wanted a hug

"Amaythyst, sweetheart" Athena found this adorable. She embraced her while muttering 'thank goodness you're okay' over and over. she could never imagine that such a wonderful and innocent girl has to go through so much just because she was born different. She frowned a little and tightened their hug

"I'm glad you're safe. Where is your father? And why did you not open the door for mommy?" Athena asked her worries coming back to her when there was no trace of her husband. She lets go of her daughter, worried that she might have felt her trembling hands.

Because she was raised as strict as possible when she was young, she tends to be anxious at all times. never letting her guard down and always cautious
