Edith PoV

I had a weird dream. The sun was shining and I was standing on green grass with both of my parents holding my hands. My Mama said: "Thomas and Lucille don't even have this. They have no happy childhood memories to draw from."

When I opened my eyes I thought that I was still dreaming, in front of me stood Alan McMichael, but I knew that he couldn't be here... but then he started to speak. "Hello Edith!" he said in a warm voice. "Don't move or speak just yet. You've been heavily sedated." I tried to warn him but I just couldn't form words. "It's a shook to see me, I know!" Alan added before he turned to Thomas and Lucille. "Forgive me for dropping so by so unannounced." He said. "Heaven-send, as it turns out." I still tried to say something tell about what Thomas had told me days ago and that her husband want at fault here it all had been Lucille right from the beginning. "She's been sick. Delirious." I could hear Lucille trying to explain. "She's been talking to me..." I mumbled out like in trance. Everyone turned towards me again. "Who....?" Alan started but I already interrupted him again. "My mother...she warned me about coming her..." "Delirious, you see! Poor thing." Lucille just mumbled just then I noticed that she must have stolen my wedding ring while I was out. My glance moved over to Thomas who looked at me apologising, like a lost puppy in the rain. I felt so sorry for him but nonetheless I still hope he'd find the courage to finally speak up to his sister. Tears of frustration and fear started to ran down my cheeks I just wanted to be able to tell Alan the whole truth... Alan simply turned back to me and held a tea cup out for me. "Drink that." He mumbled I just pushed it away. "No please not that...not that...." I mumbled before I lost consciousness again...

Thomas PoV

I was relieve to see the doctor standing in the door way. What was his name again Alan Mc-....Something... he could help Edith, but I doubt that it would last long Lucille would take care of them and he would be forced to stay here all alone with her again...No not this time, he would find a way out of here for Edith, that doctor and even him. After all he was the man in this house it was time that he started to act like that. After Edith had lost consciousness again Lucille started her conversation with Alan again. She insisted that he'd stay till the storm outside had passed. Of course she'd make him stay... while he insisted to get a moment alone with Edith. "We'll leave you then, Dr. McMichael." She replied. "With your patient." Slowly we left them alone but just when we were out of sight she ran up the stairs and I had trouble following after her but I needed her I needed to find out what she had planned now. His own mind was racing as well, ever since he had seen Edith fall he had realised just how bad he wanted to leave this place with her, just knowing that she would be safe with him. "Where are you going?" I asked her when I pulled myself from my thoughts. But I already felt like I knew the answer: to the attic. "Somebody has to stop him! I want to know, brother, will it be you this time? Or me, as usual? Since your little bird seemed to have stolen the last part of your brain. Do you know what they'll do to you....to us when they make it out of here?" My face fell this again. I watched her pulling out a familiar-looking knife before she looked at me once more. "I thought so!" she simply said and immediately hurried back down.

We just walked back into the foyer to see the doctor swiping Edith up in his arms but this wasn't the time to feel jealous.

Alan's PoV

"Things are getting a little emotional, I see, doctor." I could hear Lucille state. It was obvious by now that she was the evil force so my eyes didn't leave for the shortest second, she was very dangerous. "She's exhausted, showing signs of anemia. I'm going to take her to the hospital immediately." I tried to make my point much clearer here. The two of them walked down the stairs even through, Thomas didn't seemed to have his sister back on this. But she was so threatening like a wild animal towards its prey. "That won't necessary!" her voice was so cold while her brother just stared at Edith. I doubt that she would be up for playing cat and mouse ad while I tried to sort out my options I already said. "It is! You've been poisoning her! I know everything!" I replied right back not backing down. I sat Edith back down and pulled out the folder that I got from Mr. Holly. "I'm sure you remember this. Front page, the Cumberland Ledger. Lady Beatrice Sharpe was murdered in her bathtub. One brutal blow, almost split her head in two." I could hear Edith gasped when she saw the headline. I just hoped that I hadn't upset her, still I continued. "No suspect was ever arrested! There was no one else in the house, only the children. The truth was too horrible to consider." I was surprised that Edith didn't even suspected Thomas for a second her eye immediately found Lucille. "You did this!" but there still wasn't the slightest emotion on her face, but on his there were more than enough, shame, horror, disgust but also fear. "Please stop it..." he mumbled. "You, Sir Thomas, were only 12 at the time. After the police questioned you, you were send to a boarding school." Then I turned to his sister. "As for Lucille, at fourteen, her story is less clear. A convent education in Switzerland, the news account says. But I think of a different sort of institution!" finally Lucille show some kind of reaction. But not the one he was expecting, instead of him she glared at her own brother. "What are you waiting for?"
