Edith Pov

Days went by as the winter set in. I felt strangely motivated by the supernatural events so I worked on my story. Even through Thomas and I had been married quite the time now he still hadn't fulfilled his duties as a husband. I could see in his eyes that he wanted to but every time things would get a little heated between us we would be interrupted by his sister or his eyes would turn guilty and he would leave saying I still needed time. Lately I've been thinking that he was the one who's not ready. Maybe this ghost wasn't lying...if he had a wife before maybe he was the mourning one. But why would he marry me then in the first place? Lost in my thoughts I didn't noticed him entering the room. "Writer's block?" he ask making me jump. He chuckled a little. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you." I just smiled him stiles at still battling with the thought of asking him about Elena. "What were you thinking about?" he ask when I didn't said anything. "Oh it's nothing...really...it's...it's just..." Well I guess it's now or never..."Did you know a woman named Elena?" I looked up at him and saw the surprise in his face. After some time of opening and closing his mouth. He finally said: "Y-yes...I-I once knew her...b-but how do you know?" Should I tell him the truth? He's not going to believe me..."I met her." Now Thomas looked completely confused. "H-How? W-Where?" "Here. In this room." This is strange doesn't he know that she's dead...why would he ask such questions then? He just starred at me. "But but that's not possible..." I sigh hard. "But it's true I met her ghost." "No no no...it can be Elena isn't dead." So he really doesn't know... "Will you believe me when you see her yourself?" The he basically jumped up. "There's nothing to see. Such things as ghost don't exist." "They do! And I'll prove this to you." I took his hand and dragged him through the whole house but we didn't find her. Once we were down in the foyer, he stopped me and I turned around. "Look I know she's here somewhere...maybe in one of the locked rooms." I started he looked like something came into his mind. "There's one room where we could look for her..." "So you believe me?" I asked hopefully. "I ..I don't know if I want to..."he mumbled. We walked the stairs back up and through the half of the house till we finally reached the door Thomas was looking for.

Elena Pov

I could hear Edith screaming my name though the house. She is lucky Lucille wasn't home. Still I hid back in my room I knew Thomas was with her and I didn't wanted him to see me like this. Just when I thought she gave up I heard a key being put in the lock. Immediately I hurried to hide in the wall. "See there's no one in here..." Thomas said nearly sounding disappointed. Edith looked around. "Elena, are you in here? Please come out." "That's ridicules..."Thomas said and turned around to leave. Just then I came out of my wall.

Thomas Pov

Why did I even listen to Edith? It hurt me enough to be in this room but to think that Elena was dead....no it just couldn't be true. When I wanted to leave the room I could feel a cold breeze. "Thomas look!" Edith said. Now I was getting angry at her so I turned around to tell her to stop but my voice got caught in my throat. There she was. I would recognize those eyes everywhere even when the rest of her was covered in red clay. "Elena?" I breathed out, tears welled up in my eyes and my knees went weak. I sunk to the floor, Edith running to my side; she wrapped her arms around me trying to comfort me. I looked at her. Suddenly I could feel something cold on my cheek so I lifted my head facing Elena who had placed a hand on it, giving me a sad look. "H-how did this happen? You left this place...", I asked her. "She can't talk Thomas." Edith said but then got up placing a piece of paper on a desk. "But she can write..." Elena didn't moved an inch but I could see the pen on the desk moving. "You sure you want to know?" Edith read aloud. Elena kept her gaze at me her it was like she was the one talking to me. "Y-Yes I-I'm sure..." once again the pen flew over the paper. "After I left you and this horrible place I found out that I was pregnant with your child..." Elena looked to the floor as my eyes went wide and I swallowed hard. Edith placed her hand over her mouth in total shock but continued to read. "So I had to come back...I thought that if I'd let you know you would come with me...but you weren't here when I arrived." "God no...", I whispered knowing what would come next. "But Lucille was..." I closed my eyes and let out a breath. "She killed you?" I asked holding back more tears. "Yes she did. And she cut my tongue out so I couldn't tell you...my body lays in one of the clay pools..." Now Edith was sobbing I got up to comfort her. When I held her in my arms she said. "Why would she do something like that? Why would she just kill someone?" I realized that now was the time to tell her everything, so I did. I told her about the other women and my relationship to Lucille before I met Elena. "I'm so sorry I brought you here Edith. I was stupid enough to believe it would be different this time. I swear I never wanted to hurt you..." She just looked shocked at me and to take a seat at the near standing bed. "I can't believe you've been doing this with her... I know you're not a monster Thomas, so why are you tolerating her murdering innocent women?" "I-I just felt so guilty...she killed mother because she wanted us together...I don't know..." Elena wrote something on paper she looked at me like she wanted me to read it to Edith. "Please don't blame him Lucille is very good at manipulating people." I looked at her. "I'm really sorry, Edith, I fell in love with you and that ruined your life..." Edith gave me a sad smile. "No it hasn't but we need to leave this place together..."
