The following morning, Spencer woke up to the sound of a new text message. When she glanced at her clock, she was surprised to find that it was already 10:30 AM. She'd had a terrible night's sleep after her initiation with -A, and hadn't fallen asleep until five that morning. It was a Saturday, though, and according to her text, she was supposed to meet Alison down at the local gym in twenty minutes.

Groggily, she got out of bed, and tried her best to make herself look presentable. After getting dressed and brushing her teeth, she threw her hair up in a bun, and left the house. Fifteen minutes later, she was walking up to the Rosewood Fitness Center, and signing in at the front desk. Alison greeted her with a smile as soon as Spencer entered the guest locker room.

"Ready to let loose some of that steam?.the peppy blonde asked her. "You look like someone just hit you with a bus..

Spencer gave her an irritated smile. "Gee, thanks..She followed Alison to the treadmills, remembering the task that -A had given her for the day. It was a fairly easy one, but to get Alison to open up to her would be like trying to tame a bull after purposely running it into a brick wall. All -A wanted to know was if what Alison said about sleeping with Aria's dad was true. Spencer had a feeling she already knew the answer, though.

After an hour-and-a-half of burning calories and weight lifting, Spencer and Alison left the gym, and walked to the Apple Rose Grille down the street. If Spencer was going to get the information out of Alison, now would be the time to do it.

She waited until Alison had settled down, and had finally given Spencer a chance to speak. She had been going on and on all morning about how her mom was planning a trip to Paris that following Spring. "Ali?.Spencer asked her once her friend had stopped talking to take a sip of her water. "Remember what you said in Bio yesterday?.

Alison narrowed her eyes at her. "Of course I remember. What of it?.

"Well, I just want to know, why would you do something like that to Aria?.Spencer said this hesitantly, because she knew that with Alison, every answer was an unpredictable one.

The blonde shook her head. "What's wrong with everyone in this town? Doesn't anyone know how to take a stupid joke?.

Spencer frowned. "That wasn't a joke, Ali, that was torture..

"Call it what you want,.she just murmured. She set down her water bottle, and turned her attention to the menu laying on top of the table. "It's not like she shouldn't have seen it coming..

Spencer scrunched her nose, just the idea of Alison hooking up with someone that much older than her making her sick to her stomach. "That's just not right..

Alison let out a long, harsh laugh. "Please. Aria's dad is attractive, but I would never sleep with someone that old. First, it's illegal, and second, it's just gross..

She sighed, relieved. Mission accomplished, she thought to herself. "So what are you going to tell Aria?.

"I'll let her think what she wants,.her friend just said. "I'm sure she'll figure out soon enough that I was just pulling her leg."
