에 and 에서 are location marking particles. The use of the two words is slightly different from one another.
에 marks the location
집에 가요
I am going home
However, 에서 marks the location where an action takes place/has been taking place.
저는 학교에서 공부해요.
I study at school
에 is also used to indicate time.
3시에 친구를 만날 거예요.
I'll meet my friend at 3pm
에서 also means "from"
지금 학교에서 집에 가요.
I'm going home from school, now.
