Suddenly the smell of pizza takes over my senses. I snap up and rise to my feet.
Two figures climb over the rocks surrounding the bay.
"Food!" Grey shouts and gets up from her laying position on the picnic blanket.
"We come baring gifts." Alex says and shows us four pizza boxes and a grocery bag.
"Heck yeah, now we only have to wait for Mike and than we can get started." Grey says while she takes a pizza box from Alex and hops back down onto the blanket.
The food takes my mind off of the water but not for long.
The waves look so nice... the reflection of the sunset makes it even more tempting.
Another smell snaps me out of me trance. It's something sweet like a perfume. A figure climbs over the rocks, Mika I presume but a second figure follows.
The sun reflects on a pair of glasses and I know in an instant who joined Mika.
"Hey guys." Mika says enthusiastically.
"Won't tell anyone? Yeah sure." Grey says and gives him a dead glare.
"Come on Grey, she's my mate that doesn't count." Mika responses while pulling Elena closer to him.
They look so perfect together.
I want a mate too but that is not important now- I already have one but yeah I don't want him.
A shoe flies through the air and hits Mika right in his face "Gross." Grey mumbles before bitting into a slice of pizza.
"She already knows so there's no reason to sent her away now." Grey sighs.
"Yes." Mika mumbles as he and Elena take a seat on the picnic blanket with the rest of us.
"So here's the deal, this book has information about my situation and I want to test some of the theories." I explain.

"One, two," a bucket of ice cold water hits me and I gasp like a fish. "You said on three!" I exclaim
"Three." Grey adds.
I wipe my eyes with my hands and spit some of the salty water out of my mouth.
All eyes are on me as everyone waits for the transition. I look at my dripping arms and legs to see how my skin absorbs some of the water. They come in a single shiver like goosebumps golden scales shoot out of my bare legs.
I tumble backwards, then towards the sand but two sets of arms catch me just in time. Mika and Alex sets me down gently onto a bath towel.
"One minute and seven seconds." Elena says as she stops the stopwatch.
"What's next?" Grey asks.
"Powers, lets see if Rebel can read our minds." Axel says enthusiastically as he writes something down in the light purple notebook Elena brought.
"I want to test a theory first." I say and reach for my necklace and unhook it. "I think I read something just before I fell asleep yesterday." I hand the necklace to Alex.
"It was about an ancient spell that can be placed on family heirlooms, it is suppose to protect the wearer from harm."
After I dried up Grey refilled the bucket and was all too exited to throw the cold water on me again.
"One, two-"
"Just do it!" I interrupt. I'm dripping with water not a second later. I lose the feeling in my legs before I even have the change to open my mouth.
I fall to the ground and this time the boys weren't fast enough to catch me.
I land in the sand face first with a muffled thud.
"Well that proves that theory." Grey laughs. I wish I could stand up right now and wipe that smile off her face.
There's a strong gust of wind in the bay. Greys sneakers get blown from the picnic blanket and hit the back of her head.
She looks so shocked, I can't help but laugh and soon the other join.
"Now let's test some powers, lets see if Rebel can read our minds." Axel says enthusiastically.
