Finding My future • Chapter 2: School and Her

"That sounds good. Thanks" 

"It's ok" Alice gave Bella a sweet smile.

I gave Alice a 'what were you thinking' look. 

It was going to happen eventually. She belongs with you Edward and I know that you love her already. I have seen you guys together. Your both so happy. 

Alice thought to me. I smiled shyly. She was right though. I did already have a thing for her. I just hope that this was one of Alice's visions that doesn't change.

When we got home Alice let me tell Esme all about Bella. She was very happy for me. You could tell in her eyes.  

"Edward I am so happy for you. It's so nice to see you so excited" she kissed my forhead.  

Alice then explained how they were really good friends and had invited her over on Friday. 

"And I am happy that you found a new friend Alice. It was nice of you to help out the new girl" Esme told Alice and she smiled lovingly at us both. 

"Well how could I not. She belongs with Edward and he knows it. We might as well get them together the sooner the better right?" Alice chirped.  

"That was very kind of you Alice. Its a good thing that you know what the right thing is to do" Esme said putting the laundry into the washing machine and turning it on. 

"It helps that she can see in the future if that's what you mean" I muttered. Alice hit me playfully around the head with her hand. 

"Hey, I never said it was a bad thing but I do owe you a big thank you sis. What can I do for you to show how thankful I am?" I asked Alice. She held a big cheeky happy smile on her face. 

You could let me take you shopping. She thought. Great.  

"Anything else Alice?" I offered. 

"Oh pleeeease Edward. I can get you all new stuff so you look perfect for Bella. Please?" begged Alice.  

"Ok, ok fine. But if its my choice to say when it's enough. I will be your barbie doll as long as I have a say" I told her. She jumped for joy and gave me a hug. 

"Thank you, thank you, thank you. And I promise that you can have a say in what clothes you are going to wear." she kissed my cheek and danced off into the living room. 

"That was very sweet of you hunni" Esme commented.  

"Thanks mum" I kissed her cheek and went off up to my room.

I laid on my sofa facing the ceiling. I thought of Bella. Why I couldn't read her mind. What made me act so shyly around her? How will I cope with her sweet lovely smell that made my throat burn in pain. 

I must have been up there for hours because I was woken when I heard a knock at my door. 

"Come in" I called. It was Carlisle. I sat up from lying down.  

"Are you ok son?" he asked and sat next to me. 

"Yeah I think so. Just a little confused that's all" I said and knelt down on my elbows. 

"What's bothering you Edward?" Carlisle asked a little concerned. 

"It's Bella" I started to say. "She is just perfect and I really really like her. She is so beautiful and lovely. Her sent is sweet and mouthwatering. But even though it gives me a burning sensation at the back of my throat, I somehow don't had the urge to kill her. Inside me she is apart of me that I have been missing and its finally completed with her there." I confessed. 

"Thats a good thing. I am really proud of you, well done Edward" Carlisle congratulated me. 

"Thanks Carlisle. But I just... can't read her and I don't know why" I explained. Carlisle though for a while and I looked at him. 

"Sorry Edward but I don't have an explanation for that one" I sighed and said it was ok. Maybe it was just a one off. Or just the fact that she belonged with me therefore there were no secrets to hide and I didn't need to know what she was thinking. Carlisle left and I stayed sitting thinking of all the possibilities that it could be.

When it started to get dark I went out for a walk. I climbed a tree and looked over at the lake. It glistened in the moonlight like shimmering crystals. I stared in the distance, not expecting to find anything in particular but just to let time pass. I saw the tree next to me russell and I looked over. It was Jasper. He purched on one of the branches. 

"Whats up brother?" he asked curious. 

"Not much. I just can't stop thinking of Bella" I told him. It was not a bad thing that I couldn't get her out of my mind. I just wished that we could get closer to her and let our friendship widen before I was able to tell her how I really felt. Which of cause Jasper new all about that. 

"It will be ok Edward. You and Bella belong together. You know and so do the rest of us. Well Carlisle and Esme believe us but haven't seen it yet. Anyway you just need to wait. It will come, just be patient" I knew he was right, about everything.

"I'll tell you one thing though. She was totally in to you at lunch. She felt all warm inside when she sat next to you. Just like you did. Nervous as well. You guys has the same feelings. I makes me smile when I feel something like that coming from two people, destined to be together" he confessed and I smiled. A little light inside me made me happier. So she liked me. Maybe not as much as I liked her yet but it's more progress than I thought. I was thinking that she thought I was shy (which I kinda was) or weird. I could only guess as for once I didn't know what she was thinking. But for Jasper to tell me that's how she felt I became more confident. 

"Thanks Jasper" I smiled again 

"It's ok. So are you coming back in. I think Alice has a new outfit for Emmet and I heard that its hilarious" I chuckled. 

"Yeah sure" we jumped down from the trees landing with a huge thud. If a human was near by they would have fallen over by the way the ground shook. 

"Race you?" Jasper offered 

"Your on Whitlock" 

"Bring it on Eddie" called Jasper.

We raced back to the house. Obviously with me being the fastest vampire of the family I won, but Jasper wasn't far behind and used jumps to help him keep up with me which was a cleaver idea. 

"Ok I win. So i would like you to try on another one of Emmets outfits and strut down the living room to show it off in front of everybody. Please" Jazz rolled his eyes but said that he would do it. 

Everyone gathered into the living room and we made a walkway for Jasper. He came around the corner in denim shorts, black leggings, a pink and yellow striped best top with a small black cardigan and silver pumps. He walked down the living room with his hand on his hip and one foot in front of the other. He held a fake dazzling smile but a death glare in his eyes as he strutted last me. We were all in histerics.

I'm going to get you back Eddie. Thought Jasper. I laughed harder when he did his pose. Arm shooting for the sky hand on his hip and leg bent. He leaned down gave Alice a loving kiss and strutted his way out of the room. We all laughed until our stomachs ached. 

Jasper rejoined us and say next to Alice on the love seat; giving her another passionate kiss. 

"Eww. We do still have eyes you know" complained Emmet. 

"Good so remember that when you and Rose are making out when we are around" Alice snapped back and gave Jasper another kiss on his lips. I chuckled to myself. nice one Alice I heard Jasper think. I could t agree with him more.
