The joy of New Year ushering in merges with the ecstasy accompanying the launch of the Mandroid App - everybody is merry.
The Mandroid Team howls and cheers, soaking in the euphoria of accomplishment. All of them have been away from families for so long that both married ones and those single have developed attachments with their team mates; there are hugs and kisses here and there - everywhere.
Fredrick can see Eddy Nimo passionately kissing Nikita Akori from the corner of his eyes.
Nikita is the brain behind Mandroid Cybernetics, a division of the Mandroid program saddled with creating exoskeletons from the worlds known hardest substance; vibranium.
Raj and Taj stand just inches beyond the outer rim of the fluorescent glare. Some of the light in the spacious four step auditorium has been switched off and office furniture shifted to a corner; for a light dancing to take place.
The motto is 'work hard, party harder'
Fredrick cannot make out both their faces clearly, but he could tell they were doing a lot of talking. They had been the most pessimistic during the whole process as far as he can remember.
There was on particular brainstorming session he remembers vividly, that day he had realized that Raj and Taj will be on his neck, questioning his every move till the project is over.
Raj had asked 'How are you going to manage the backlog of feedback from the brain as it exits Limbo?'
It was the same question he had asked Maktuh on their first meeting and Fredrick had a ready answer for them.
'I strongly believe that that's not a problem, we do to the brain what we do to every Android App that's starting to take up much space . . . clear the cached data.'
Taj was never too far in step behind Raj.
'You cannot just assign plug and play techniques to the human brain; suffice to say the complexity of a human brain surpasses that of any known computer. The brain likes being in control, it's a control freak; so how do you take this control away without it noticing?'
Fredrick decided not to trade words with them and rather ask Nikita if the functionality of such an idea was plausible.
She had just come in from jogging that day, and there were pheromones all over the place.
She says, "I don't see any reason why such a minute interference with the brain will lead to any such backlog; once the program is initiated and signals are sent to the client's brain from the Mandroid Satellite, then brain falls into limbo. The after effect can be described as a person in coma. You don't see anybody come out of coma with a backlog of data stored up in his brain asides what used to be there; now if you are talking about Amnesia, then that is something we will look out for, but that is still far off during testing."
