It was the day of the Oaks post draw, and the teams sat at tables set up for them for the draw. Soon, after waiting, the draw was ready after a small speech was given.
"And now, for the draw of the newest renewal of the Kentucky Oaks. And the first post position will be...number four. And that will be... Beautiful Now.
"Next up... Number nine with... Upside.
"Next... Number eleven with...Important Love.
"Next will be... Number two with... Fleetwood.
"Next will be... Number seven with... Last Dance.
"Our next post is going to be... Number one with Miami Dreams.
"Next up we have number... ten with... Different Story.
"Number...eight will be next, and in that post will be... It's Complicated.
"Gate number... Three is up next with... Don't Apologize.
"Up next we come to gate... Thirteen, the unlucky number with... the unbeaten Virtual Majesty.
"Next... Post five will have... Over The Moon.
"With three draws left... Number fourteen will have Capture The Moment.
"Number six will have Save The Lies.
"And that leaves post twelve with MamaCantHelpYouNow. That is the field for the Kentucky Oaks. And now, for the odds."
When Miami Dreams was announced for gate one, the team wasn't too happy. She always ran from dead last, and they felt she would be in trouble in that post.
"Number one, Miami Dreams, 99 to 1.
"Number two, Fleetwood, even money. She's favored.
"Number three, Don't Apologize, 3 to 5.
"Number four, Beautiful Now, 7 to 2.
"Number five, Over The Moon, 8 to 1.
"Number six, Save The Lies, 5 to 1.
"Number seven, Last Dance, 3 to 2.
"Number eight, It's Complicated, 50 to 1.
"Number nine, Upside, 10 to 1.
"Number ten, Different Story, 30 to 1.
"Number eleven, Important Love, 1 to 9. She'll be the second choice.
"Twelve, MamaCantHelpYouNow, 20 to 1.
"Thirteen, Virtual Majesty, 2 to 5 third choice.
"And fourteen, Capture The Moment, 3 to 2."

The next day, the team sat in the same spots for the Derby draw. And after the same as the day before, the draw started.

"Next, twenty with, Danzon.
"Next...two with...American Psycho.
"Next...twelve with...Dynasty Maker.
"Next...five with...Frost Warning.
"Next...four with...ReachForTheStars.
"Next...eleven with...Classic Pioneer.
"Next...nineteen with AlwaysADream.
"Next...Seven with...Fleetwood Dancer.
"Next...fifteen with...Important Business.
"Next...eighteen with Important Legacy.
"Next...fourteen with...Priceless.
"Next...eight with... Raging Fire.
"Next...thirteen with... Important Fame.
"Next...ten with...Inspire.

Everyone left after congregating for a bit. Pride's team went to the track stables with Pride and Dream.
"How do you feel about the posts, Scott?" Sara asked.
"Terrible," Scott replied. "They couldn't have been worse. Dream is on the inside, which is terrible for her running style, and Pride is most likely going to lose again because of the gate number 17, which no one has still won from again."
He just shook his head and left without any other word.
"He's right," Luis said. "Dream has a terrible post and there has gotta be a curse with gate 17 in the Derby."
"But Luis," Sara said. "What if they defy their odds and post positions and win the races? Someone has gotta win from post 17 one day. It's bound to happen."
"Hopefully you are right," Luis said. "Because you do make sense about that."
