Chapter 44 I Am Also A Monster

The sound of metal rang in his ears and slashed through his nerves. He yells in protest, but Jane turns a deaf ear to his plight.

"Are you angry with me Xiao Yan?" his voice hold a faint smile

A killer is rushing in Jane's direction. Xiao thought that he could finally free himself, but Jane just pressed harder, Xiao's sternum is almost cracked. At the same moment, Jane pulls his gun from his waist. The killer's blade is a mere inch from his head when the bullet enters the assassin. Right before his brain explodes, Jane knocks him out. His reflexes and movement are way beyond what should be possible for a human.

The tracking guns only contain three rounds.

Xiao Yan is shocked to see Jane waste the bullet in such a display of arrogance.

"You haven't answered my question, Xiao Yan." Jane lifted his leg and kicked his calf with his heel. It was movement meant o provoke a response. To Xiao Yan, such a gesture meant danger.

"No.." Xiao Yan exhausted broken chest is barely able to squeeze the words out.

"Not at all?" HIs voice is light and airy.

"I didn't get angry with you." Xiao felt like a dry bag of bones, he doesn't see why Jane is fixating on this.

Suddenly the immense pressure crushing his chest lifts, and Jane pulls out his blade and joins the battle.

Xiao eyes widen attempting to track his rapid movements. Jane glided quickly to the center of fray.

His sliced the wrists of two killers and the third lost his head as Jane swept though. He fights as if it is a breeze. Each jump is so accurate that it appears he must be connected to a terminal and constantly calculating such accuracy of movement. Xiao is acutely aware that is just how keen Jane's instincts are. He puts his hand on one of the fighter's shoulders and spun around, two more heads fly through the air.

After less than ten seconds only one killer is left. He is on the ground, both of his hands have been cut off. Jane steps on his left shoulder and lowered his gaze with the intensity of a bloodthirsty demon.

The killer met Jane's gaze and unexpectedly smiled. "You won't reach the main control room."

Jane sheaths his blade and heads over to Xiao Yan. He picked him up and then came to another passage, heading to another floor of the base.

The team follows Jane.

The killer looks at everything with suspicion and Sharon eventually takes the lead.

"Aren't you going to kill me?"

Jane looks down at the Surge fighter and his mouth lifts in a cruel curve, Xiao Yan is clamped in his other arm.

"Why would I kill you? I plan to let you witness me getting into your main control room."

After he finished speaking, he dropped down to the other floor. Xiao angrily closed his eyes. He would have to follow. He hated the feeling of falling. What was even more maddening is that it has become commonplace.

Jane changed direction in midair and landed firmly. Xiao Yan was still clamped under his arm. Jane released his hold and Xiao stood steadily. Suddenly the nodes of the passages closed and everyone watched as all the channels shut.

"What happened? Xiao Yan, has your invasion of the master been discovered?"

Xiao Yan is surprised too, then he feels an immense pressure and power build inside his mind. Something moved quietly around his thoughts, no matter how he attempted to shake it, the presence was firmly wrapped around his mind.
