I wake up shivering and crying in Colton's arms. Colton is sitting on the floor with is back against the wall farthest from the door. I am curled up in a ball on my side between his legs with my head on his lap. He is softly wiping the tears from my eyes as they fall down my check with one hand and is rubbing my arm with the other in an effort to warm me.

Realizing that the drug that they had given me has finally worn off I scoot closer to his leg and place my hand on top of his hand that was wiping away the tears.

"You'll never know how sorry I truly am."

I turn so that I can look up at his face while still laying on him, "I saw my mother".

Shock and disbelief spreads over his face, "But she's de--".

"I know," I interrupt him before he can finish. I don't think that I can take the sting that those words will bring. "I had a wonderful dream. All of this pain was gone. You were there and so was my mother telling me that help was on the way. She told me to not give up fighting that you needed me and my people needed me."

"Yes, please listen to your dream and continue to fight. You have too much to live for to give up. I have so much to make up for and if you leave me now I can't do that." I hadn't realized just how much he cares for me until now when he starts to cry and the damp tears fall down on me.

I reach up and wipe them away just like he had done for me moments before. I sign, "I have to try to change back so that I can see if my cries made it through to my pack".

He nods and I muster up all of my remaining strength that I had gained from my slumber to shift.

This time instead of trying to fight the shift I embrace it. I accept the familiar pull of my bones shifting into place and the tingling of fur covering my body. I pull my hands closer to my chest as they become paws so that I don't hurt Colton.

Once I am fully shifted once more Colton does something that surprises me. He bends down and kisses me.

"I believe that I love you, doggy breath and all"

As happy as I am to hear that I simple do not have the time or energy. I have too many voices running through my head.

"I've got her scent this way!"

I can recognize that voice anywhere. Avery is one of the best trackers we have so of course they would recruit her on this rescue mission.

"I swear if anyone even lays a hand on her I will rip them to shreds. I will kill that kid!" Oliver's voice fills my mind.

I want to tell them that I am alright but as hard as I try I can't seem to get anything across. It must be a side effect from the drugs that the hunters had given me.

Oliver's angry voice continues, "I knew we shouldn't have trusted him. I had a feeling that all that kid would bring was trouble and it looks like I was right. As future beta I say that we kill him when we find him after we make sure Mia is alright."

"We can't do that Oliver. What if he had nothing to do with this and he was simple taken as well", Avery tries to talk some sense into him but it doesn't seem to work.

"I have a feeling that he was involved."

"Guys enough" my fathers strong voice fills my thoughts and I instantly relax some. "You will not touch him Oliver do you understand me. You may be future beta but I am still the Alpha. Even if he was involved hurting him will destroy Mia."

"You don't mean...." Oliver stutters.

"Enough. We need to focus all our energy on finding her quickly."

I shiver at the thought of us actually being mates and change back into my human form. "They are close. We need to get ready to fight."

I sit up and move to sit next to him but not out of his reach. Out of instinct he reaches out and grabs my hand in his.

Oh boy, I have a lot of explaining to do if, no once, we get through this.
