I smile widely at him and shrug. "We had fun."

He returns with a grin just as sweet before I hand him a small donut and I take the other. We try it at the same time and watch each other's expressions change.

He lifts his brows. "Wow," he mutters.

"Very good," I nod my head in agreement.

The both of us begin to chuckle after that.

NATASHA:

"Have you tried to get them out?" I ask.

That's when we hear distant noise; an alien screeching far above us...

"Just what would you suggest?"

I look back at the crowd... "There has to be something."

"This many people? There's nothing that can get them out of here safely with those things above us. And we have no way of contacting anyone."

"Well we do," I mutter.

Bruce looks at me. "Something big enough for this? I don't think either of them can help..."

I shut my lips in thought... and I look back at all those families sick and wasting away. Even with all we've seen I still am not used to seeing humanity like this... I see a mother with her tiny child only two years old before the young one begins to cry again and she comforts him, a picture of her dead husband in her hand.

I tear my eyes from the sight and walk away.

Banner follows me into an open corridor where we can see the sewage water falling a few feet away. I stop and put my hands on the concrete railing. I almost sigh when I realize the inevitable. "We have to help them, Bruce."

"Natasha I don't know how we can do that. Not just the two of us. You saw me on the field―I can only distract so many of those things. And even if only one got to you the damage would be catastrophic. We can't let that happen to these people."

"And with Thor and Stark?"

"Natasha... Even with a weaponized military Humvee and six superhumans we barely made it out alive.

I think hard and don't give in. "There has to be something we can do..."

"I want to help them too but... I just don't see how we can―"

"I don't want what happened to me happen to any of those kids..."

He hesitates... his eyes showing sympathy to me when he realizes what I just said.

I am about to say something but my eyes lock onto a figure guarding the door a ways behind him. It's a policeman of course and when my eyes catch his he looks away, something in his eyes. I furrow my brows a bit at that.

WANDA:

"It's a shame there's not a wider selection of things we could actually take with us for sustain," Steve sighs, shuffling through anything that's left here.

"What's wrong? Are these mini powdered donuts not giving you enough nutrients?" I tease.

"Well a guy like me's gotta keep in shape," he gives me an arrogant look and continues to pack.
