How they ended up like this? They didn't know. No one did.
Why Pidge decided to start taking pictures? That they knew. Blackmail.
It was after a few seconds that the awkward staring at each other got more awkward. Lance, holding one of Keith's right leg halfway in the air while Keith balanced himself, while Keith used equally as much effort to help Lance balance himself by leaning against and clinging to him just made everything ten times more awkward. The boys' faces were mere inches away and they could feel their warm breaths bouncing off of each other's flushed cheeks before they pulled away and attempted to untangle themselves.
Lance, scratching the back of his neck, decided to speak first. "S-sorry about that."
Keith nodded slowly, looking down in an attempt to hide his red face. Slowly but surely, a cackle began to escape the smallest of the paladins. Wiping the pretend tears from her eyes, she took one last picture and shoved her phone into her pocket. A small glare from the former red paladin was shot her direction, causing her to smirk wickedly and skate away.
"Well, that was extremely uncomfortable to watch," Shiro stated, skating over from the opposite side of the rink. "Why didn't you guys tell us you couldn't skate?"
Keith looked up and shot a glare at the black paladin. "I-I can! How hard is it to walk in knife shoes?" Shiro raised a brow to the teen's outburst but quickly slipped into a small grin.
"Care to demonstrate then?" He challenged. Keith gulped slightly but did as requested of him. He slowly guided his foot along the slick ice, pushing back ever so slightly and reaching to do the same with the opposite foot. After a good few steps, Lance, being guided by Shiro soon caught up with him. Shiro helped Lance catch his balance, confident that he wouldn't fall and let him go.
Nodding, he complimented the former paladin's work. "You've surprised me, Keith." The teen's eyes widened as the black paladin reached out to pat his back. Shiro, unfortunately for Keith, used quite a bit of force in his gesture, sending him tumbling onto Lance once more.
"Shiro!" They both screeched, both rubbing their foreheads, due to the fact that the impact from the fall caused their heads to collide. A loud cackle from none other than the green paladin could be heard from across the rink. Once again, her cell phone was out, catching their once again flushed faces on camera.
The two teens groaned in unison, and once again untangled themselves from each other. Keith reached a hand down, grabbing Lance's to help him up.
"Knife shoes?" The current red paladin asked. Keith narrowed his eyes and let go of his hand, sending Lance falling backwards and hitting his bum on the cold ice. "Hey!"
