Another day had past which meant it had already become day 5. As usual, I awoke to the daylight of Scramble Crossing. I rubbed my eyes and stretched my arms to the morning sun rays. I looked beside me to see Joshua twirling the ends of his wavy hair, looking at his phone.
"Joshua, you're gonna go blind anyday if you keep staring at your phone like that," I joked. "Aw is my dear (Y/n) actually worrying about me?" Joshua smirked as he closed his phone to look towards me. "Tch, I was trying to be considerate," I said. "Forget what I said, go ahead and go blind for all I care for," I said. "Hehe, tsundere (Y/n)," Joshua said. "Did you just call me a tsundere?" I asked. "I sure did," Joshua said. "You know, for me to be a "tsundere" I have to actually LIKE you first right? In your dreams, I would never like a jerk like YOU!" I yelled. "Doesn't that sound like something a tsundere would say?" He said giving me a face I couldn't comprehend. "No it does NOT! Just stop calling me, "Tsundere" will you?" I said giving Joshua a glare. "Whatever you say, dear~" Joshua said.
I looked over at my hand and a timer was already placed before I had realized.
Looks like I've become used to the pain.
I checked my phone searching for the mission mail that must have been sent.
Reach Shibuya river within 90 minutes. Fail, and face erasure - The Reapers
"We should start heading out soon. I don't think we should let other players complete for us again," I said. "Why not, isn't it easier that way?" Joshua asked. "I mean, obviously but if you're planning to survive and come back to life, you're going to want to earn more points. Since you seem to know so much about the game already, I'm assuming you know what I mean," I said. "Hehe, if that's what you want," Joshua said.
After some time walking with Joshua I had barely noticed, I had no idea where I was going. I opened my phone to check once more noticing that I had no clue where this "Shibuya River" was at. "Hey Josh, do you know where is this "Shibuya River" at?" I asked. "Of course I do. You seemed to know the way so I simply followed you the whole time, dear," Joshua said. "You say it as if I'm the only to blame. If you knew, you should've told me!" I said.
I followed Joshua as he led the way. "(Y/N)! MOVE OUT THE WAY!" Joshua yelled pushing onto the ground as a noise was about to attack me but Joshua had saved me in time. "Are you okay?" Joshua asked. "Huh?" I said in shock he was worrying about me. It honestly threw me off. "Oh um, yeah I'm fine. Are you?" I asked and Joshua nodded. By the time I had knew it we were surrounded by a swarm of noises. I got up immediately and ordered Joshua to defeat one half while I would defeat the other half. In the corner of my eye, I watched Joshua wipe out the entire amount of noises in only a few seconds. Joshua made a large amount of spikes striked down and kill the noises all at once. I pressed onto my pins and slashed my enemies with it and pressed onto another one of my pins and threw a car at my remaining enemies to finish them off.
There wasn't much time left so Joshua and I rushed over. When we got there I noticed that this was no river. It was no wonder I never heard of this place. If there was a river here in Shibuya I would've known. This place was like some dark, suspicious alley.
"Are you sure this is Shibuya River?" I asked Joshua. "What do you think this is then?" Joshua asked. "I'm not doubting you but.. it seems we can't go any further. Is it blocked?" I asked. In front of us was this caged sort of thing with a noise sign on it. "Seems so, perhaps we should turn back," Joshua said. "We can't leave without trying," I said. "That's not a good idea, we should turn back," Joshua said. "Worrying about me now? How funny," I said. I touched the wired cage and an electric shock struck my hand. "Ouch, what the hell is this thing?" I asked. "I warned you beforehand," Joshua said. I had just noticed that the timer still hasn't been stopped. "Hey Joshua.. Why is it that the timer is stilling ticking?" I asked nervously and I gulped my saliva. "Who knows," Joshua said. "Don't tell me you tricked me!" I yelled. "Relax, I wouldn't lie to my dear (Y/n)," Joshua said.
"Welcome, I've been meaning to meet you two," a voice was heard from behind.
Joshua and I immediately turned around. "Who are you?" I glared intensely. "Why, I am this week's game master." "Game master..? Do you know your math? The players are supposed to see the game master on the final, SEVENTH day NOT the fifth day," I said.
"I am very aware, but there is no rule that says I can't simply meet the precious players just a bit early."
"I mean I guess not but what business do you have with us?" I said.
"You two are very interesting players to have entered. If not the most interesting players I've seen in quite a while. It's my pleasure to meet you two."
"What an honor but, you still haven't stated why you have come to meet us," Joshua said.
"I have simply come to see you two. That is all. I also wanted to say before I go that it will be an interesting sight when you both reveal your secrets to each other. Now I'll take down your timers now and set your mission as completed. Farewell," he disappeared slowly into thin air.
Secrets? Oh is he talking about that? That isn't really what I'd call a secret but it certainly is very personal to me. But.. what did that game master meant when you said, "you both" Was that game master saying that Joshua hiding something as well?
