It was already Day 2 of the week. Prissy boy and I have been standing here like idiots these past hours since the mission mail hasn't been sent out yet. It was too quiet so I decided to break the silence.
"Joshua, how did you die?" I asked knowing he would somehow avoid answering and give me some sort of sarcastic remark or something that would piss me off. But I wouldn't blame him too much if he doesn't answer. Maybe I should've picked some other question. "How do you think I died?" He asked grinning. He didn't even answer my question. He just ended up tossing the question back at me. But now that I'm thinking about it.. how would Joshua die? An accident? No.. suprisingly he's pretty on guard when noises are near by. I don't think he would be careless enough to let that happen.
Flashback from earlier
"You're so annoying. Stop calling me, "dear" will you?" I said. "Why should I~" Joshua said. "Well because you SHOULD. Who gave you permission to give me nicknames?" I yelled. "I did, dear," Joshua says only making the conversation harder for me to continue. "Well, I have a proper name and it's (Y/n). You got that? Get that through your brai-" "(Y/N) watch out!" Joshua called pulling me away by my shirt. "Ouch, what the hell Joshua!" I said. "I believe you should be thanking me (Y/n)," Joshua said. "Why the heck shou-" I found myself with Joshua surrounded by noises. "Oh," I said. Joshua slashed all the noises that were about to attack me from behind. I pressed onto my pin, and burned the remaining enemies to death. Joshua turned to me. "Don't you have something to tell me?" Joshua asked. "Oh right.. um.. thanks..," I said. "Are you actually blushing? How cute," Joshua said. "I am NOT!" I yelled. "Hehe I was just teasing you. No need to get all mad~" Joshua said.
End of Flashback
"What's wrong? You're staring at me again. You're into me aren't you?" Joshua giggled. "What the hell?? Just drop dead already," I said pushing him away from me. "Hehe I'm already dead, (Y/n)" Joshua said. "Ugh. I hate you," I said. "So have you thought about how I died?" Joshua asked. "How am I supposed to know how you died!?" I yelled. "Exactly, and there's no need for you to know," Joshua said with a serious face. This must be rare. Its only been about two days since I met this person and he hasn't once looked this serious. Actually, I don't think he's ever been serious with me.
"Oh the mission mail came," Joshua said showing me the screen of his phone. Oh what now? Is he avoiding the subject we were on just now. He's acting a little more.. different than usual. Did something happen and I just didn't know. Is his past something so much that he can't tell me? Or maybe I'm just thinking too much. Yeah, that must be it.
"(Y/n)? You there?" Joshua called trying to catch my attention. "Huh? What?" I said. "You alright? You spaced out two times today," he asked. "Course I am. Wait are you actually worrying about me?" I said. Joshua stood silent. This dude actually has a soft side in him? Wow.. how unexpected.. "Of course I'm worried. Afterall, you're my dear partner," Joshua said. "Gross," I said. What the heck was I just thinking. And here I actually thought he was being considerate and nice for once. Course not.
"Oh right, what's the mission mail for today?" I asked. "Oh there is no mission mail yet. That was just my method of trying to get your attention," Joshua said. "Wait is there really no mission mail yet?" I asked. "See for yourself," Joshua said. I pulled my phone out and to check. I opened my phone and check. There really was no mission mail. "That's strange. There should be a mission mail by now..," I said. "Well, that's fine by me. Less work, better. Let's make use of this time," Joshua said. "How? You want to do something right now?" I asked. "Yeah," Joshua said. "Where do you want to go?" I asked. "Cat street," Joshua said. "Cat street?! That's pretty far from here. What business do you have there?" I asked. "You ask so much questions, you'll see when we get there," Joshua said.
We were standing in the middle of Scramble Crossing. So we walked from Scramble Crossing to CAT Street. Joshua led me into a cafe. Joshua told me to sit down with him which I did. The waiter walked up to us. "One cup of coffee," Joshua said. "Okay, anything else?" The waiter asked. "You want anything? Don't worry about paying," Joshua said. "Wow. Are you trying to be a gentlemen right now? Well okay, I'd like a cup of (f/d) then," I said. "Gotcha, it'll take about 5 minutes," The waiter said as he walked to make our drinks.
"Hey Joshua, did we walk all the way over here to just to get some drinks? You know we could've just went to some fast food resturant near by," I said. "I am aware. I have some business here," he said.
The waiter walked to us and put our drinks onto the table. "Thanks for wait- WAIT IS THAT YOU, JO-" Joshua gave him a glare causing the waiter to stop talking. "Ahem. I apologize for yelling there. Thanks for waiting. Here's the receipt for when your ready," the waiter said and walked away. I took a sip of my drink and than placed it down.
Was it just me or was the waiter about to say Joshua's name?
After we finished with our drinks Joshua told me to wait outside while he pays for the drinks.
Joshua's pov
"Here's your change" the worker said. "Thank you very much," I said about to walk off. "Did you really just come here to get some coffee, Josh?" "I turned around. "Josh.. Who is that girl?" he smirked. "Just someone I know," I said. "Don't tell me.. you entered the game," he said. "So what if I did?" I said. "No wonder.. I heard you went missing a few days ago... So why'd you decide to come here?" He asked. "Just came to show you I still exist," I said. "I see.. well then have a nice day then," he said.
(Y/n)'s pov
"Joshua! Took you long enough. Just what were you doing in there?" I asked. "Curious?" Joshua smirked.
I bet if I were to say yes he would definitely make me angry in some sort of way.
"If I say 'yes' will I get an honest answer?" I asked as I crossed my arms. "Who knows," Joshua said as he smirked to himself.
There it is.
I simply sighed. "Whatever, I don't want to deal with your annoying attitude," I said.
