Joshua's Pov

Hm~ I think I found someone who can entertain me for a while. I've finally found someone who caught my eye. This will be quite interesting, won't it?

Show me what you can do, (Y/n).

What will you do? I hope you reach my expectations for you. Now.. (Y/n) don't me down.

(Y/n)'s Pov

'Why do I have to play this stupid game again... '

This.. Reaper's Game... A "game" where people who have died have a chance of living again.

I sigh looking up at the 104 building from Scamble Crossing. What's even the point of gaining my life back? I only gave my effort the previous week because I didn't want to be the reason for my partner never getting a chance to come back to life. (P/n) was so determined to have a second chance in life. Now that (P/n) has come back to life, I can go to the afterworld in peace. I'll just let myself fade away here.

"Finally.. I can be free from this hell, " I whispered to myself as I looked up upon the sky.

I can now say farewell to this shitty world.

Or that's what I thought. A boy around my age grabbed onto my hand from behind. He then suddenly formed a pact with me. "Nice to meet you, new partner," the boy said. "New.. what?" I asked. "The pact was successfully formed. This means I had your permission to be my partner, doesn't it?" he said. I backed away from the boy.

A pact? Does that mean.. I'm stuck in this game for another week? When you make a pact with someone, it means you get to stay in the game with the person you made a pact with. You'll disapear if you don't manage to find someone to make a pact with. And there goes your second chance of living. Of course what I seek isn't a second chance in life but to simply to be free.

I took a close gander at him. He wore a white buttoned shirt with black jeans. He has slightly wavy, blonde hair. His eye color caught my attention the most. He has unusual grayish- violet colored eyes. "What, are you perhaps falling for me?" He chuckled, noticing how I was staring at him for quite a while. "No way!" I jumped away from him. "Hehe. You don't have to be shy, dear," He said as he giggled.

'This guy is my partner? I don't think I'll be able to stand him for more a minute.'

"Well, you'll have to for the whole week, dear," he said. Did he just read my mind? What's with this boy? "Who the hell are you?" I asked. "I'm Yoshiya Kiryu. Just call me Joshua. Let's get along, shall we," he smirked. Like hell, I can get along with you. "I'm (Y/n) (L/n). I sure hope we can get along...," I said rolling my eyes.

'I have to deal with this bastard a whole week? Put up with this prissy boy? I never hated my life more. I thought I would be released from here. Instead, I get this boy as my partner?'

My phone buzzed in my pocket. I took my phone out of my pocket and turned on my phone. "Looks like the mission mail is here," Joshua said. I gave Joshua a confused look. "How do you know about the reaper's game already?" I asked. "I wonder~" he giggled. Can this guy get any more annoying?

Everyone in the game has a phone. In the phone they receive what is called, mission mail. If the mission mail isn't completed everyone in the game vanishes. But If one person completes the mission then, everyone gets to stay in the game. There is one mission mail sent per a day. If completed for 7 days straight, the person that has made the most points gets to live again. As for the rest.. they have to play the game all over again.. Which is what happened to me. I have to play this game all over again. All because of this boy, Joshua.

"I see it looks like you know of the game already," Joshua said. "Yes, and it seems you do too," I said. I looked at the mission mail for the first day.

Reach Udagawa within 90 minutes. Fail, and face erasure. - Reapers

I felt a sting in my hand. A timer was set in my hand. "Let's hurry," I said. "In a rush now, I see. No need to be in a rush now, deary," Joshua said in an irritating voice. I ignore Joshua and run over to Udagawa. I bump into a wall and fall. I get up and look up. Oh, it's the invisible walls. A support reaper walked up to me. "Want to pass this wall? Defeat all the noises in this area," the reaper said.

"Looks like we have to battle. You ready, Joshua?" I asked.

"You don't have to ask," Joshua said.

"I'll defeat the crab and frog noises. You fight the fox and kangaroo noises," I said.

"I never knew you were the boss," Joshua said as he smirked.

"Just do it if you want to make it in time," I said trying my best not to let my anger out.

"Whatever you say~," Joshua smirked.

To fight noises, players use pins. Noises are monsters in the Reaper's game.

In just a few seconds, Joshua wiped out the noises I told him to defeat. I was quite surprised. I shot out beams out of my hand and slashed the noises using my pins. "How did you defeat the noises so quickly?" I asked. "Impressed?" Joshua asked. Despite actually being a bit impressed, I ignored Joshua.

The question I had in mind the most was how did Joshua already know how to battle? I'm guessing since he was able to fight well, he already knows of noises. Monsters that roam in the UG or you can call, The Underground. I'm not too sure myself what the UG really is.

I rushed over to Udagawa. The timer disappeared from the palm of my hand. "Phew we made it," I said. "Tired already?" He asked as he gave a smirk. "As if. If I was tired from this, I wouldn't be here," I said. "Good, you'll need that attitude for the rest of the week," Joshua said.
