Chapter 17: Returning Home

Start from the beginning

Lefting my head as I hear the announcement through the intercom that those taking business and first class could begin to make their way to the plane. Getting up and grab my backpack and follow Hyung to the plane. Sitting by the window and hyung beside me I go into iTunes and type in the words "At least I'm happy" and tap enter. A singer by the name of Sarah appears and I purchase the album. Putting my phone of airplane mode I tap play and lean back listening to the mellow song that plays through my ears. Paying attention to the lyrics as she sings with steady control and easy, and something about her voice just puts me at ease.

Ever Since I was a little girl
Didn't buy much of those
Things that are meant to be
Lines orders everywhere
Nothing comes out not in pair
But do I really care
When did I ever care

I'd rather go down in flames
Burnt in sparkles and blaze
I'd rather plunge right from
Heaven to a sea of thorns
So I can embrace
And creat
At least I'm happy

Ever since I could stand and talk
There's been a voice
ringing in my head
Everytime I'm about
to lose myself
Or my conscience
about to go down
Am I still awake
Am I still awake

My eyes closed as I listen drifting off onto sleep with the song the main sound that plays throughout my dream. Turning to my side I find myself laying in the middle of a lavender field. Slowly getting up to my feet I begin to walk. Not sure where I'm headed, but it's like something within me knows the way, as if I had been here before.

I keep walking till the scene ahead of me begins to clear and a house stands in front of me but I'm not headed to the house I turn left heading onto a narrow path.

"Where in the world am I-"

My train of thought gets cut as I hear a voice speak out to me.

"It's nice to see you again Jiyong, you haven't been here in a while."

I stand still frozen in the same spot as I try to figure out where the voice is coming from. I hear what sounds like a sigh and finally see a faint figure approaching me.

At some stage the music had faded as soon as the voice spoke out to me.

"You never used to be afraid, you were always excited to see me."

Slightly confused, because this person or thing kept referring to me as though we had known each other for years and then I summom the courage and I finally speak back.

"Who are you? And how do you know me?"

"I've always known you, it's just you over time have forgotten about me."

I sigh hoping it's not one of those riddle dreams that will end up leaving me confused when I wake up.

"You, still haven't told me who you are and how you know me excatly."

"Well, you tell me. Who do you think I am?"

The man said as he stepped forward and I could see him clearly but something about his appearance was bright and warm but slightly blinding but it wasn't painful to look at him it was actually calming.

"An angel."

He smiled and shoke his head motioning me to take another guess.

"Mhm... well could you be God?..."

I said knowing it sounded silly and that it probably couldn't be.

"You are correct, you see My Father and I are one and the will of the Father is carried out in my name through the Holy Spirit."

I couldn't believe this, God was talking to me, of all people in my dream? But why me?

"You, seemed confused my boy?"
He voice broke my concentration and I looked at him.

"Well, yes I am. I mean if you are God why can I see you like in a human body?"

He smiled again and turned around and started walking down the path as he turned to me and said

"Follow me."

Something in just made me move and at his instruction I followed him wondering where excatly we were going.

"It seems you have forgotten all the stories you learned about me when you younger. I am the word of God made flesh and I came to earth to pain the penalty for all of man's sins. Now knowing all that do you now have an idea of who I am."

Walking beside me I titled my head.

"Mhm, well, according to the stories that I can remember, that would mean that you are Jesus the Son of God. But that still doesn't make any sense as to why you would be coming to me in my dream."

"Why not? You would always talk to me when you were younger telling me everything that happened even though I knew it all already, it was pleasing to see you engage with me so often."

I stopped for a moment as a memory like a flashback came to my mind. When I was younger I would always say a prayer...and Id be talking out aloud to myself but it was as of I was talking to someone who was actually there.  Looking back at this person this man who had to be Jesus.. because he knew things that I had never shared with anyone, things that somehow I had forgotten and locked away.

"Wait, so you would be there listening to everything I said? You never got tired of hearing my endless stories?"

"No, never not once. I enjoyed your active imagination, I knew you were brilliant and that this very quality would be the key to your success. But unfortunately as your path to success became more clear, you slowly stopped talking to me, eventually I didn't hear from you at all. But, I always came here and waited, knowing that one day you would eventually be lead back to this very spot."

Shock was written on my face. If I had turned away from him for so long why patiently wait for me to come back. He smiled seeming to have known what I was thinking.

"You're wondering why I would wait?"

I nodded still speeches as I listened to him speak.

"I will never force someone to come back to me, they must choose for themselves if they want to come back to me. I will bring people into their lives to try guide them back to me. But if they still choose to walk away I will not stop going after them."

Suddenly the sound of the music slowly returned it was near the end the same words I heard on the drive to the airport played again. I didn't want to leave just yet. If this was really Jesus I had a whole lot of questions to ask. I calmed down as He rested His hand on my shoulder.

"We will meet again. You know where to find me."

With those as his final words I opened my eyes and sat up straight in my seat. Pulling the earphones out of my ears as Hyung looked over at me.

"Jiyong ah, are you alright?"

"Huh? Oh... yeah, I'm fine... just had a really interesting dream...it sort of felt real."

I said wondering if I told Hyung would he really understand. But for now this was something I was going to keep to myself, I mean after all people have realistic dreams like that all the time and it's not really God speaking to them in a dream right.
