Missing In Action 18

"I was actually going to find out tonight." Sky said.

"She knows she's not allowed to be out so late." Danielle said in a motherly way.

"Well I guess we'll see where she's going." I said. 

"Shh. She's coming." Sky whispered. 

Anna walked in the living room holding Faith. 

"What's wrong with you guys?" She asked confused. 

"Nothing." I answered. 

"That's a lie." She said.

"Is not." sky said.

"Is too." 

"And how do you know missy?" I asked. 

"You guys aren't very good at talking about someone behind they're back." She chuckled.

"We were not saying anything about you." Danielle said. 

"Yeah...okay." Anna said sarcastically. She set Faith on the ground. Faith walked right up to me. 

"Gum." She said. 

"Aren't you missing something?" I asked.

She thought about it.

"P-Please." She said trying to pronounce the word right. 

"Much better." I said taking the gum out my pocket. I took off the wrapper and gave her the gum. 

She quickly climbed up the stairs. 

*That Night*

Me, Danielle and Sky waited to hear the front door open. Once I heard it I quickly jumped out of my bed. I put my jacket on and checked on Faith, who was soundly asleep. I peeked my head out to the hallway. I saw Danielle and Sky do the same. 

"Did she walk out?" I mouthed. 

Sky looked over the staircase. She nodded. 

We quickly walked down the stairs. Hurrying out the door to try to catch up to her. We finally did, but we were a safe distance. She went through an Alley...and climbed over a fence. She was quiet at it. We didn't even hear her. 

We followed her. She then went to a building. She climbed up the fire escape ladders. 

"Hey, she learned that from me." I whispered. 

"Shh." Danielle said. 

We watched as she climbed up to the very top. 

"She's going on the roof." Sky said. 

We quickly climbed up the fire escape as well. When we reached the top, we peeked our heads over. She and a guy laid on a blanket looking up at the stars. They were talking and holding hands. 

"Who is he?" Any asked whispering. 

"A friend?" I shrugged. 

The guy leaned over kissing Anna. 

"I don't think friends kiss." Danielle whispered. 

"Shh. I'm trying to hear what their saying." Sky said. 

We listened. 

"You know we can get caught." Anna said. 

"By who?" He asked chuckled. 

"The guards...your mum...my mum." She chuckled. 

"It's an only way to see each other." He said. 

"That's true... I want this war to be over already..." Anna sighed. 

"I know..." He said. 

She looked at him. 

"Are you scared to go?" She asked. 

Go?! Go where?!?, I thought. 

"...yeah...not of dying..but of time...I want to have all the time in the world with you." He said intertwining his fingers with hers. 

She laid her head on his chest as he wrapped his arm around his shoulder. 

"Anna..." He paused. "I love you..."

She looked at him. 

"I love you." She said. 

She kissed him. 

After we've heard enough we started to walk home. And Danielle was a mess. 

"She's...all...grown...up...now." Danielle sniffed as Sky was comforting her.

"These things happen..." I said also comforting her. 

"Yeah, she has to grow up Dani." Sky said. 

"But I remember when she's was a small girl." Danny said wiping her tears. I gave her a tissue. 

"You mean two years ago?" Sky asked.

"What I wanna know is how come she never told us about him?" I asked. 

"Yeah, if they're saying the I love you's already that proves they've been together for a long time." Sky said.

"And what does she means by 'are you scared to go?' Where's he going?" Danielle asked. 

"We have to talk to her about it." I said.
