Shena

I finally manage to forget about Carru Mitchell. On Friday I saw him coming towards me so I left with my girls as quickly as I could. I never saw him again.

My weekend was great because I'm happy. What's the use getting upset over an asshole? So I didn't. I simply pushed him from my memory.

It's Monday and I'm on the lawn with my girls as usual. Saneke is making silly faces and I'm taking pics of her. Zoya and Camesha are fighting over a chocolate.

"Oh my God. These pics are hilarious. I'm putting this one on Facebook", I said showing San and she laughed.

"Ooh that's cute. I'ma make it my Whatsapp profile picture", San said giggling.

"Zo it's mine not yours. You ain't getting it. You just ate a whole bar you greedy cow", Cam said. San and I laughed.

"C'mon, just one bite", Zo said.

"No!" Cam shouted.

"Mean ass", Zo said pouting.

Just then Zo, San and Cam suddenly changed and they were glaring at someone behind me. So I turn around and saw Carru and his friends staring at me.

"Before you do or say anything, please hear me out first", Carru said calmly.

"Uh.. yea I don't think so. So if y'all don't mind, please leave us alone", I said harshly. Then I turn back to my girls.

"But I just want to apologize for what I did", I heard him say quickly and I froze.

Did he just say 'apologize'? I must be hearing doubles because as far as I know he doesn't apologize to anyone. I look at my girls and they all have shocked expression on their faces.

So I turn around and look at him trying to find a clue off him that he's joking, but he had a solemn look on his face.

"Wh-what did you say?" I stammered managing to find my voice.

"I want to apologize for what I did last week Thursday. I didn't mean to order you around or anything. I just wanted to talk to you but it came out wrong so I'm sorry", he said sincerely.

Sincere? What the hell is going on? I'm at a lost for words. Carru Mitchell, the bad boy/player of Maggotty High apologized to me. Like seriously? Shits crazy!

"Um..apology accepted", I said but it sounded more like a question. Then he smiled at me. Just then the bell rang.

"Shena. It's time for class", I heard Zoya said.

I broke my gaze off Carru, grab San's hand and left there as fast as I could.

"Whoa, Shena. Slow down ma!" San cried.

"Sorry I'm just confused", I said.

"I can't believe Carru apologized to you. How cool is that?" San said laughing.

"I don't know. It's weird. Becoz he doesn't apologize to people. It's not his style. So why did he apologize to me?" I asked confused.

"Maybe he's changing. Maybe he likes you. Who knows? And who cares? He apologized and that's a good thing", San said.

Yep she's right. Well I guess now I can officially move on from this nightmare.

When we got to class we took our seats. Then our teacher walked in with Carru and Andre behind him. They came and sat right behind San and I. Ugh. Couldn't they sit somewhere else.

"Okay class. Today I'm gonna give you a worksheet to do. It will be done in groups and it will be graded. Due date is Friday and everyone in each group must participate. After I call your names please form a group with your respective group members in an orderly manner. Understand?" Mr Samuels our maths teacher said.

"Yes sir", we all answered in unison.

I hate group work. Mainly because students don't corporate in groups. They leave everything to one person. I look at San and she smiled. She loves group work. Mainly because she's not so good in maths so working in groups helps her a lot.

"Good. Shanakay Hall, Deborah Anderson, Jovaine Wright and Andrew Smalls in group 1. In group 2 we have Annakay Smith, Richard Clarke, Alicia Bromfield and Scott Collins", Sir said. He went on calling out the groups and everyone went beside their group members as they hear their names.

"In group 5 we have Saneke Simms, Andre Simpson, Shena Young and Carru Mitchell", Sir said.

Ugh. Faith is not on my side. Why are you doing this to me Lord? Or is Satan? I'm positive it's Satan working his black magic on me.

I groan and lay my head on my hands on the desk. Why am I so unfortunate? Why do I have to be in the same group with Carru Mitchell? Ugh. I feel like I'm bouta faint.

Just then I felt someone shaking me so I turn my head and saw San looking at me worriedly.

"Are you alright babe?" She asked. No.

"Yep", I answered softly.

Then I sat up and froze when I saw Carru and Andre seated in front of San and I staring at me with concern in their eyes. Like seriously?

"Are you okay?" Carru asked.

"I'm fine", I said dryly.

Just then Sir placed a worksheet on my desk and looked at me worriedly.

"Are you alright Ms Young? You look a little pale", he asked curiously.

"Yes sir. I'm fine", I answered trying to sound convincing. Why does everybody keep asking me that? He nod then left.

"Okay students. Start working on the questions", Sir said.

So I focused my attention on the worksheet. There are twenty questions on the paper and they all look challenging. I guess that's why Sir wanted us to work in groups.

All throughout class we worked on the questions and I was surprised at how good Carru and Andre are in maths. They're almost as good as me. I thought they didn't care about schoolwork. I thought they only care about football and ruining people's lives because that's the impression they give. But the way they're so focused diminishes that. From what I'm seeing they're intelligent.

Just then the bell rang and class ended. We manage to do eight questions.

"Okay students you may work on this in your own time. Next class we'll be starting a new topic. You may leave", Sir said dismissing us.

I got up and started packing up my things.

"When will we finish this? We got football practice everyday after school", I heard Andre said.

"And we got extra class everyday after school", San said.

"What time does your practice end?" I asked looking at Andre and Carru.

"4:00 sometimes 4:30", Carru answered.

"Okay well our extra class ends at 4:00 so we'll meet up under the trees at four starting today. That okay with y'all?" I said looking at them.

"Yea. That's fine", Carru said smiling.

"Okay cool. Bye", I said grabbing my things then left with San.
