Dreaded Beginning
Song: Potsu - I'm closing my eyes
The day began like any other, a chill ran up your spine as the winter breeze began its unwelcomed dropping of temperature. Winter was the most liked season, but to you, it was the most bothersome as you walked 10 miles to the hospital you worked at. A huff of warm air left your already chapping lips at the thought of all your duties at said hospital ranging from changing bed sheets to transferring patients from room to room. You loved to help patients but the morning crisp air kept your thoughts focused on the warm inviting bed back home.
A warm gentle smile adorned your face. Sure, winter was bothersome and had its many cons for your usual pleasant walk, but the sight of the soon-to-come white wonderland made you forget all of that and instead filled you with warm loving nostalgic memories. Memories of running up hills with your father as your mother yelled for you both to be careful, of course, you didn't listen. However, those memories, for now, are replaced by the freezing morning, filling you with angst and dread, as you tried your hardest to warm your frozen fingers.
Another warm huff left your lips only this time instead of your frustration you felt satisfaction as warm and cold air became visible in the form of a makeshift cloud. You exhaled a small giggle as your childlike nature took over, imagining yourself a vengeful dragon sworn to freeze the nonexistent village of closed-minded villagers. You became so engulfed in your imagination that you hadn't noticed that you were now passing the midway mark known as the Witches House.
The Withes House gained its name as every time you passed the weeds of the home only seemed to grow taller shortening in the winter when the weeds died by the very vengeful snow and cold. This passing was different as the screeching of obscenities from you assume the witch herself could be heard from the sidewalk. You paid no heed at first, curiosity however stopped you. You watched the house carefully as the screeching worsened. Tactfully you took a few steps passed the house as your mind puzzled together a reason for the woman screeching, the story of an unloyal partner?
The door slammed opened a woman ran out yelling, "I'm calling the cops!!" Or something to that extent, you couldn't hear them very clearly. The short woman pushed passed you angry about something.
So not the witch? Wow, ok half right then.
There was silence for a few minutes the door creaking from the wind. You questioned why you stood there, but something told you to wait for an outcome. An end to a story at the very least. Just as you were about to continue your casual stroll the house expelled out a sluggish and extremely small hybrid. In a panic, you hid behind a few bushes lifting your phone to record the scene as another woman began kicking the defenseless hybrid.
That's the witch.
In a way, you thanked the recording trend. Yet you hated it as the person behind the camera should be doing something to stop the scene in front of them instead of recording.
Hypocritical.
The scene was graphic you almost couldn't believe it as your hands shook feverishly. The hybrid once on its two feet was now on its hands and knees close to collapsing onto the cold concrete floor.
You wanted to say something but your mouth couldn't move. You feared what the woman would do the same to you if you interfered.
"You're so fucking useless! Do you know what you've done?!? Now because of your stupid ass, we have to move... AGAIN!! I should've just given you up as everyone told me to! Die you piece of worthless shit!!" She wouldn't stop hitting the poor motionless hybrid. Finally, the disfigured witch stopped her rampage as she stomped inside her house. The once motionless hybrid sat up trying to stand on its two feet, wobbling as it tried.
