At this time, Heine raised his wrist to his face, bringing it close to his lips, he issued instruction to the com device located there.

"I have Xiao Yan, meet at the usual place."

Hearing that Xiao finally felt a little relief, at least they were not the only ones to survive.

As he followed Heine, he failed to notice a dip in the grass ahead of him. He lost his balance and fell down. His chin bounced off of the ground and he bit his tongue open. The rusty taste of blood filled his mouth.

Damn. It is all just too tragic.

He is a man and shedding tears is humiliating but, at this moment, all Xiao wants to do is cry.

He struggles to get up, but shock waves of pain run through his whole body. The pain concentrates and expands until his temples are throbbing from trying to hold it back. All he can to do is writhe helplessly on the ground. Through the gaps between the blades of grass, he watched as Heine's figure moves further and further away.

The zombies are catching up to Xiao.

Ah...forget it...Just eat me...

Everyone ends up dead in the end anyway.

Xiao turned his head away from his doom and the breeze gently sways the blades of grass across his nose, the slight tickle stinging his eyes. The wide expanse of blue sky above him is far larger, and more transparent, than the holographic projection at the Shire.

Xiao closed his eyes tightly, feeling a large shadow eating the light above him. It was probably that Level 1.

His heart raced and Manson's death repeats endlessly in his head.

He has some regrets.

Why was he out here desperately chasing after Heine Burton? Why wasn't he sitting in the Shire holding a sleeping cat instead of running from zombies in an open field...

.Fantasy and reality are just too far apart.

"How long are you planning to sleep?"

Xiao Yan opened his eyes and met the deep bottomless blue of Heine's. They washed over him like a tidal wave falling from the sky.

Heine was crouched on one knee in front of Xiao Yan. There is no disturbance in his expression. His atmosphere gives nothing away. Xiao tilts his head, in the remaining light, he notices the zombies that were running toward him are now all cut to the ground.

All taken care of by Heine Burton.

"Colonel...I...Can't stand up. Just go ahead with the container. If you could leave me a knife though...I want to..."

Xiao didn't know why he was saying all of this to Heine, perhaps deep down he wants retaliation. More than likely Heine will simply drop him a knife and let him end the whole game.

Heine's hand reached over him and his nerves pull with tension. His knuckles brush against Xiao's cheek and he heard a slight crackling sound. Xiao's shoulders tremble but all Heine does is pick something from the ground. Looking over at him, Heine is holding a blade of grass. He tilts his head back slightly and opened his mouth, his tongue brushing against the blade of grass as his mouth closed around it. The movement is impossibly erotic and in sharp contrast to his cold ruthlessness.
Xiao's heart quickens just as Heine pulls the grass leaf out of his mouth. A strand of saliva still hangs from it. He reaches over and grips Xiao Yan's cheeks, forcing his mouth to open. His fingers slip the blade of grass in.

"Ah!"

Xiao's eyes widened and his brain stopped thinking.

Completely blank, the world disappeared.
