Chapter Five

Ethan's POV

The kiss lasted longer than I expected. Did I mind? Nope. Not at all. 

She pulled away as I opened my eyes. 

"Wow," I said. "you're a really good kisser." 

"Uh. Thanks. I guess." She blushed. Cutie. 

"So.., does this mean you, you know, like...me?" I asked. 

"I guess I do. I'm not sure." She said. "Do you... you know. Like me?" 

"Yeah. I think so." I looked in her blue eyes. 

"Great." She rolled her eyes. 

"Is it bad that we kinda like each other?" I asked.

"I don't want you to hurt me, Ethan." She answered. 

I sighed and pulled her onto my lap. She flinched at first, but then relaxed. 

"No." She whined trying to get up. I gently kept her down. 

"Remi, please look at me." I said. 

She looked at me with tears swelling in her eyes. I wanted to cry because of it. 

"Remember when I said I'd never hurt you?" I asked choking back tears. 

"Yes. I do." She said looking me in the eyes of for the first time. 

"I still stand by that. It hasn't changed." I told her stroking her cheek. 

"He said that too. And then he hurt me. That's why I get scared." She said. 

"Who hurt you?" I asked. 

She didn't answer and she didn't look at me.

"M-m- Matthew." She stuttered. I knew it.

I wanted to kiss her and hug her so bad, but I couldn't scare her.

"Hug me. Please?" She asked.

"Of course." I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer to me.

"What did he do?" I asked.

She shook her head to tell me she wasn't gonna answer the question. I kissed her forehead.

"I'm so sorry." She said. She cried into my chest making me break for her.

"What are you sorry for?" I asked.

"I'm sorry for being this way. For not being able to tell you and not liking you touching me all the time. Just for not being normal!" She said getting fusterated with herself.

"Baby. Don't ever apologize for that okay. It's not your fault. Besides, I wouldn't want you any other way." I ran my fingers in her hair.

She smiled a little which made me smile back.

How could any one hurt this girl? She's so perfect.

Her head fell on my chest.

"Let's just stay here. Like this. For a while." Remi said.

"Okay" I said smiling.

"You're so cute when you smile." She returned the smile I gave her.

"No. Not really." I disagreed.

"Yes you are. Don't fight me on this." She protested.

"Okay." I surrendered.

We both finished watching the movie.

"Hey, what time is it?" Remi asked. I picked up my phone.

"2:45." I said.

"School's almost out," She stated. "Raymond will get angry if he sees you here. With me."

"Oh. Right, sorry." I said.

"Don't be. Especially cause I don't want you to leave right now." She said.

I bent down and kissed her lips. She pulled away.

"I can just say we are...studying." She told me.

"That's a nice excuse."

"Or I can just hide you. In my closet."

She sighed.

"Will he really be mad?" I asked.

"You're on of his friends. He doesn't like me dating his friends." She explained. "When I dated Matthew he went crazy."

"Oh." I said.

"So. I have a question." She said.

"Well, I probably have an answer." I told her.

"What are you gonna do about Ashley?" She asked.

"I don't know. I don't even think I like her anymore." I said.

"So. If you see her and she tries to kiss you. What do you do?" She asked.

"I guess I tell her I like someone else." I told her.

She cupped my face and kissed my lips.

The door opened. We quickly disconnected our lips. Raymond was standing there with an angry look on his face. He stormed out of the house.

"I'll be right back." Remi said.

She followed her brother out of the house.
