Chapter 13: The Interview

Start from the beginning

Joey takes over showing Mr Kim to his seat as I go to the ladies room to finish off. Meanwhile Ling starts to get Jiyong ready for the interview.

“So, you nervous about this interview?* Ling Li asks helping Jiyong into his outfit.

“A bit but I’m sure it will be fine seeing as Miss Park reassured me several times."

“Call her China, Miss Park is so formal and makes her sound older than you.” Ling Li says as she applies some light makeup on Jiyong’s face.

“I just call her that out of respect…but wait she’s younger than me?” How old is she if you don’t mind me asking.”

“Not at all China is 25 that make her four years younger than you if I have your age right.” Ling Li explains finishing off the makeup and styles his hair.

“Well, do you have any last word of advice for me before I go out there?”

“Well, just relax and answer each question honestly.” Ling Li say as she nods that she is done.

GD's POV

Sighs nervously as I head to the interview area fixing myself or rather nervously tugging at parts of my suit. I see China and one camera guy walking in I bow my head and greet them both.

I’m not wearing anything my designer wouldn’t normally pick for an interview. I’m wearing a grey Armani suit, paired with a green, white and pink tint check board long sleeved collar shirt with a white and light silver tie, Chanel watch and accessories, and orange brown sunglasses. My hair it styled up with the sides slightly shaved the colour is blue and my roots are black. Trying my hardest to keep my nerves in check I take a seat as the interview starts.

CHINA: “Evening I am China Parks and I am here at the beautiful and quaint Maroon Café in Sydney Australia, joined by a very special guest please introduce yourself.” She says to me.

GD: “Hello my name is G-Dragon.” I greet smiling at the camera.

CHINA: “G-Dragon this is your first interview in Sydney Australia. How are you feeling right now?” She asked giving me full attention.

GD: “I was slightly nervous when walking out here because first time interviews always tend to make me a bit nervous that’s because I want to present myself in the most appropriate way.” I answer back.

CHINA: “I can understand, but please feel be free and be comfortable. G-Dragon, tell me how you started your career?”

GD: “Well, I started pretty young. I started at age six I joined a group called RooRa which you probably haven’t heard of but our contract got terminated. I vowed to my mom that I wouldn’t try to become a singer but I was scouted by SM Entertainment at a ski trip and I trained under SM for five years from when I was 8-13 years old. I specialized in dancing but I left not really sure of what I wanted to do and I was young at the time so you couldn’t blame me. Around third grade a friend introduced me to an American rap group the Wu-Tang Clan and that was when I started to develop an interest in rapping and began taking classes. Around 2001 I participated in the release of a Korean hip hop album titled Flex and at that time I became known as the youngest Korean rapper because I was only 13 at the time.” (Wikipedia, n.d.)

CHINA: “Wow, at such a young age…wasn’t it hard for you dealing with the schedules and school.”  She asks.

GD: “At that time I didn’t have a schedule, Choi Seung Hyung and I had been friends since middle school but we lost contact for a while after I moved. I got scouted by Sean of Jinusean from YG Entertainment and he recommended me to Yang Hyun Hyung who is the CEO and I signed a contract. The first year I was cleaning the studio for other artists and fetching water bottles during dance practice but it helped me appreciate the small roles that people play in the company because I was there myself in the beginning.” (Wikipedia, n.d.) I explain.
